@mattstang68 I work with a hurco vmx-1, and milling aluminum with 10000 rpm, 8mm tool and a feed of 9000 is easy! Hurco's machines are great and stable. No vibrations what so ever.
That Hurco you mention has a max acceleration of .1g and max feed rate of 600ipm. Not impressive bud. Hurco's are very cheap machining centers and they will make you money, but they are not in the category of a high end machine by any means.
How many machines do you know of that can do this and be able to hold a 3-micron tolerance? And this machine can do even better tolerances with the right tooling and machining environment.
douro20, don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of Mazak machining centers, but most videos I have seen are roughing aluminum. I wanna see some hardmilling and make that a selling point.
notice how at like a 1:30 the goobers don't let the spindle spin up before they have the tool buried in the work piece... it's aprox. half way across before it reaches programmed speed...
@lockgessner its supposed to do that, the feed is in sync with the spindle speed so that its a constant feed per rev.If you look carefully the feed increases as the spindle gets faster.
These mills are loud as hell on the shop floor, you always know when they're cutting. Especially with a wave of chips flying around like in this video.
wow, that has to the fastest tool change ever! Are those oversized cookie cutters or waffle molds?

That is neat, but nothing impresses me when cutting aluminum. Show me some hardmilling!

i have a doosan that was setup like that , and i changed the parameters,
the manufacturers do that so they can advertise a faster chip 2 chip time
