Because this is a heavily modified version of The Fat Controllers Engines from the RWS book Eight Famous Engines. Duck, Gordon, Henry, James, Thomas,Percy, Toby and Edward were the only Fat Controllers engines in that particular story and their work was done by engines from the other railway while they were away. The Engines in this have basically taken on the responsibilities of what the engines on the other railway did while Thomas and all were away.

Not wanting to sound full of myself, but when the rights to a British series is sold to the US, this usually results in the content being watered down, the humour being watered down and in many cases, the content copied like for like.

This isn't so bad, but what annoys me and many other people is when a series is then sold on to other countries by the US, it is marketed as a US show. The Office, Pop (American) Idol and the Sketch Show are classic examples.

This is my theory about BoCo's absence.

When the episodes with Daisy came up, they morphed BoCo into Daisy. Daisy's faces are pretty much just BoCo's faces with makeup. So BoCo disapeared because he turned into Daisy. When Mavis and BoCo go by, they try to hide BoCo's face. I think I saw some blush on his cheeks, but Im not sure. But how BoCo's body managed to return to its original form pretty much shatters my theory...
