Is this easy to use? I tried it in a guitar shop and it seemed quite complicated. The guy who has it who works at the shop says it takes about a day to figure out.

I have a question

I have a Pod X3 Live, a Spider III amp and a Brian May Guitar's guitar

And I can't fucking get the sound I want, or any good sound!!! when I play directly in the amp it sounds really good, but when I use the POd X3 Live it sound awfull, and I took it to Guitar Center and I used it in one of they're amps sing one of they're guitars and it sounded awesome

Can anyone help me, please?

@QueEEnfAN1 Try plugging X3 in MP3/CD input, leaving GUITAR INPUT empty.

assuming you want to use the amps/cabs on the box; the key to a good sound using the x3 live is to play through the amp at its cleanest. For example I use a fender 2x12 on clean channel with the bass/mid/treb at the most neutral sounding spots and control everything through the x3. If you are attempting to use the spider iii effect settings and adding x3 effect settings you will be disappointed. I have been very happy with mine using an amp or PA system.

to effects loop, and when i switch presets, my loop stops playing...

How would you plug a loopstation into x3 to get stereo? :(

@LeonGrinberg really if u are looking at a boss pedal then the gt 10 is pretty much equal to if not better then this pedal. it really depends what u want to use it for.

Great Vid. What do you think gives you better sound for a pro guitar player, a POD X· Live or a pedal board of songle good pedals, like vintage stuff. I am asking you because I buyed the POD but it didnt sounded so good for me, specially the distortions. Know I use single pedals,boss and fulltune, and it sounds good... but my pedal board is too heavy and its a mess to fly with it, besides its to expensive to buy pedals for everithing. I am considering buying the POD again... what do you think?

IMHO, If you have an amp that you really like and want to put some effects on it, get the Line 6 M13. Its easy to use, vesatile and sounds great (a lot of folks are surprised at how good the distortions sound on it). It also has just about every effect you can think of built in to it. Its about the same price as the POD. If you want a lot of different amp sounds, go to the POD.

lets say i use a guitar with active pick ups, like the Ibanez ART 300 . . wat r the pros n cons ? Will it be as versatile with the POD as a passive and what changes do i have to make if i dial in a downloaded patch (most are for passives)

I just wanted to mention that you can adjust the feel of the expression pedal to make it easier / harder to move with an allen wrench through a hole in the side.

I was wondering if I upgrade to EMG's 81 and 85, will it be a huge upgrade in sound quality?

I have the same guitar RG4EXFM1. I replaced the INF's with DiMarzio Evolution in the Bridge and Neck Humbuckers and a DiMarzio Area '58 in the middle. And it does make a very big difference. The RG4EXFM1 is a fairly great guitar when you put good pickups on it. Hope you Find your pickups for your tone. Keep on Rockin

the audio engine in every pod X3 version is the same. They have the same audio quality.

They all sound the same the bean, the live one and the rack; they just have different hardware features and dual tone things and other stuff like asio utilities.

check it out in the site; I would recommend the X3 live because of the pedalboards and some other things you can't do on the bean.

Thanks very much for this solid, informative video. Now I got my Pod 3 weeks ago and I've got a question concerning the headphones. I've got rather cheap hi fi ones and the POD sound just bad with then, to say the least, especially on palm muted parts where there's no chunk or strength in the sound. Do you think that buying something like Sennheiser hd 218 pro would change that dramatically? What about the impedance thing? Does it really matter so much? Are you glad with your headphones?
