i have the exact same engine myself. have had it for over a year and have only had to change the clutch once and clean the carb twice. Ive had it with a speedometer since day 1 and ive put more than 1400 miles into the engine. works great, top speed downhill is 45 mph and top speed on a flat road is 25 mph. 130 mpg (calculated that with speedometer too). Awesome toy.
i got a 48cc4stroke kit. mine slips too.. i replaced the clutch with a heavier-shoe- 2cycle-clutch by mistake. it was designed for a higher r.p.m. idle 2cycle49cc.. i lowered its clutch's r.p.m. by removed the transmission and holding a butane torch on the clutch springs with engine on and idling (the clutch assemble was spinning),, over the spring area till the springs were glowing. it slips about half as much. it's been 30 miles. it's a 21speed 26" rim mountain bike. i use synthetic oil
can i ask what size sprocket you were using during the vid to achive 40-55kph?. im running a 50 tooth on mine and getting about 35kph MAX, id averege around about 25kph though
@effoff456 at my peak i was 280lbs, and with a 44t and a 2 stroke i could go up any hill i wanted, with the 4 stroke you may want to look into a 50t sprocket but it depends on the hill., if the hill is to steep then i pedal with my engine, im not that lazy! lol
@586guest2 im not saying im a 300 pound fatty, i got a lot of gear to put on a bike :D thks for the advice, i'll look into the 50t sprocket because i'm that lazy! thks!
@zamoaleks people like you are funny, i get it all the time from the "spandex warriors" this is not a bicycle. and the point of it is to get around on almost no money at all. faster and cheaper than a racing bicycle
@MTJLT my current bike will do 70kph. with just a front rim break, no back break what so ever, also i wear no helmet or protective gear, i wiped out just a few weeks ago doing 40kph around a bend in shorts and sandals,. needless to say i lost some skin, but that shit grows right back!
@586guest2 You must enjoy pain a lot more than I do. I do my best to keep my skin where it is. I'm currently looking into power for my tadpole Trike, but there aren't a lot of options that won't up the CG and throw too much weight on the rear wheel. Good luck w/ your speeding.
@MTJLT i under stand, im still young but i know what aging is like, im not dumb, thats why i do what i do while i can, because someday i wont be able to. i dont believe in god or heaven so i kinda live for the moment, i want to get the most from my life! and have the most fun with what little money i have. thanks for your input its always appreciated
@BryantPugh1 it depends on rider weight and how you ride. with me being over 250lbs and riding hard i get about 130-150mpg but if you ride conservatively and even help pedal abit you can get over 200mpg
yer bro ive got a 50 cc petrol bike 49cc and my clutch keeps getting jammed wen im pulling it in and its just fuking up ay so if yu culd help me with that it would be great
@IRONMAIDENFAN2006 its ultra high molecular weight polyurethane. its like a frictionless plastic that doesnt wear out. people bypass them because the stock wheels are crappy and fail after a short time.
@586guest2 thats a motuthful for just saying plastic lol. i find that these bikes are just crap ive only put 23 miles on mine and had to fix it twice...
@Obonga420 i have had it to 60kph before but it is revving way to high, a smaller sproket and it would go faster im just heavy and live in a valley so there are hills and muddy trails i need the low end grunt for
@Obonga420 whats it worth? hmm well define worth, i paid 230 for the engine kit and under 500 for the bike many years ago, i sold this unit here for 500 bucks after i put over 7000kms on the bike and 1000kms on this engine
@Obonga420 the smoothest speed is about 40kph, it will do 50 all day long though but the engine is revved high, and i have done 60 but its way to hard on the engine for any amount of time
@IRONMAIDENFAN2006 i dont think a 5 would fit but a 3.5 would, and yes people have. go to the web site motorbicycling i am linnix13 on there and look at the home made bikes someone has bound to do it with a tecumseh or honda
@superfunnyman123 it would move it for sure, but you would need to pedal to atleast 15kph before you gas it or you would fry the clutch. plus you wont be able to do many hills
@superfunnyman123 no its got a centrifugal clutch like a mini bike. and to all the viewers out there this bike has well over 5000kms on it and the gear box is working fine
you could probably use a smaller rear sprocket to run it faster or at lower rpm. It looks flat where you live and you don't need that much acceleration
Close the choke all the way and prim 5 times then pedal it should start right away and warm it up on half the air is more dense it takes more air not enough gas
the kits still working great, yesterday my throttle return spring broke(scary as hell!) but i hit the kill switch, and put a new spring on, other than that the engine has been great, i have been taking amazing care of the gearbox, i added a shim to the clutch to make the teeth mesh better and i put a very expensive industrial grease in it, i might sell it, but not to cheap, this is my main mode of transport! and my bike cost alot when it was new, but hey thanks!
im not sure, i rode my 2 stroke around for a year and saw many cops, they didnt do anything, and this 4 stroke is way more quite, ive seen a few cops on it and they dont bother me, as long as you dont ride it like an idiot
@Anthonyx99 i just rerad 5 different peopls comment's that live in canada and they all say it is legal to ride them pluss one said they went to a licens office and the main guy said ur motoring which means it's all good
actually i found the opposite, taking the baffle out makes it sound good on idle, but like crap driving, and you loose so much power and speed, also if you run it without a baffle you will destroy the exhaust valve and wreck your engine,
Dude the reason why that gearboxs slips is becausw its CRAP its a jl hoot gearbox i would sugest you looking at Gurbee gearbox so much nicer and kindah faster so i would a invest becaust if your chain slips off the sproket all of the keys in side that on you have there are going to snap and there not fun makeing :( as for the the grubee only has one or two.. thanks for reading "my bike just hit m 650 mile mark
haha hey whatsup, i knew exactly what i was getting into getting the hoot, i know what it is, its all geared, it was slipping because i had gear oil inside the gearbox, i cleaned that all out, and filled it with a high temp extremely expensive industrial grease, and i filled that gearbox, i have about 3 handfuls of grease in it, and it runs sweet! I have over 800kms on it and its running great, i add grease once a week, no wear on the teeth, its a lovely kit so far!
Ya, just realized that. Not seeing the other side of the engine throw me off. So that is the entire kit? Just as if getting the 2 stroke version? They show only an engine.
no its the entire kit, i am close to the vendor so i just drove down and picked it up, its shipped from china to the vendor then he makes sure everything is perfect, repacks it and sends it to you, so it wont be broken or missing parts like the kits from china to your door, its the entire kit though, and so far its been great,
Awesome and wow, fast responce too. I just headed over to the link you gave to see how much I am looking to spend. Took my 2 stroke out this weekend it just doen't do the hills so good. A 2 hour ride turned into a 8 hour adventure with my son due to listening to some bad directions by a so called police officer. This 4 stroke would climb almost all the hills, be quieter, ....ah heck, I am sold on it!
just take good care of it, dont run it sideways(like you would do that on a 2 stroke anyways??) and change the oil often, also make sure to tread the gearbox right, when you get it take the gearbox cover off and clean the entire inside with brake cleaner, then get some super heavy duty truck wheel bearing grease and just paint the gears with it, load it in there, then seal her up and go, if the clutch slips you put to much in so take it apart, clean and try again!
legal on road ?
