By 1944 the Germans were decidedly loosing the war. The soviets were pushing west and their forces in western Europe were marginal. They never had the amphibious capacity to launch an invasion of England in any case, which was full of many well armed and equiped US and English soldiers. Any invasion they would have lost would have been disasterous.

@ImperatorZor Yeah they were... but I'm guessing this is based on a different version of history. A what if version. If Russia had been overrun and all of Germany's forces had been able to come to the western front maybe it would've been different. If the US hadn't joined the war. Maybe they weren't as effective as they were in reality. Guess you just have to suspend belief and take it!! :)
