I can pick almost any song apart; awkward lyrics, less than musical solos, clumsy arrangement, poor mix etc. There's isn't a single thing NOT to like about this song--or most of SD's other cuts--pure musical perfection. Exquisite.
Funny the name of the album this came from. I saw these folks at the Boulder Kinetics Festival on the beach. It was a loooong time ago and whenever I hear their music I just think of being young and the possibilities of being in love. It is nice to get in touch with those feelings.
I first heard Sonia Dada's 'you don't treat me no good no more' on WDST FM in Woodstock, N.Y. in 1992. It took me quite awhile to acquire a Sonia Dada cassette - and of all places I found it at a music shop in Kodiak, Alaska about two years later. I agree, there isn't a single bad song on 'A Day at the Beach'. I can say the same for the first album, but I think the second is definitely better. I can't believe these guys aren't insanely popular by now.
Hey, Love this band since the beginning, but why the odd edits in the vid like cutting out a couple of measures in the beginning and cutting the slide bass, and at the end? Weird. They aren't even smooth cuts.
It's not like it's a polished video project like Secret Life, Jeez Daniel. Anyway, brilliant band, come on back, guys, we love you.
I know the person this is based on as well as the people who made it. I'm so proud

Really good stuff. A loosely structured band of pure musical talent and energy. I wish they were better known outside the USA.

Most under rated band ever. The live album is the best I've ever heard.

Sonia Dada makes me happy, I think. No wonder. They seem like a happy bunch of talented and nice musicians. :)

We know about them! You're so right. Mainstream just doesn't have this kind of feel or talent.

@keepntyme you're so right about mainstream. No where as good as this.

I saw Sonia Dada about 10 years ago in a small venue in Pittsburgh. They were the most amazing live band I have ever heard. Pure talent.
This is off the "Day at the beach" album. There is not a bad song on the album. The way it should be.
