it is terrible that predominantly experimental physicist obtain the nobel prize. Mathematical physicists like Roger Penrose, Edward Witten deserve this prize much more then 95% of the experimentalists that won it. No one can argue about that. The theoreticall contributions to science are much harder and profounder than the discovery of some effect which has impact on technology and the daily life.
