  • the best way to check for spider mites is to use a fine mist of water to show up the webs. if you think you have spider mites immediately isolate the infected plant.

  • @7hac wow, that is some good knowledge, mist of water! Thanks!

  • the best thing you can do is to scratch away through the bark to the growth layer of the bark and if it's green, all is cool.

  • the mugo is in shock, that's when they get needle drop.

  • ficus, cut it back, then call a priest. hit it with fish emulsion. but, you can always check the roots. they are weird.

    bougainvillea are like fuchsias....

  • hope that might help a little waiting for the Christmas tree follow up

  • my procumbens juniper had the problem of some foliage dying and some not, i found that the problem is the roots for that branch are dead, so the branch is not getting what it needs, you could graft new roots for the branch but that proves to be difficult, so i just cut the branches off and created some jins you can check if the branch is dead by scraping off a little bark, if there is still green it means the branch is not dead yet. lost cause for conifers but not for broad leaved trees

  • @leahmendoza11 thanks for sharing!
