white lions, crocs, monkeys, animals such as those who stay out in the sun normally the white ones have to find cover or the heat will get to there skin and cause them to over heat faster, its like curtains for a window, dark curtains hold the heat in and light/white ones lets the heat go right threw, dark fur blocks heat white fur doesnt, no blocking, sun hitting skin duh

@Jetpiccolo most white animals in the wild dont make it, crocs lions so on have no camo so cant hunt and thats if they make it to become an adult, most the time standing out that much they will get picked off at a young age by a predator and alot of the time a lion will reject her young if it was all white and if she didnt the male most likly will try to kill it. In the wild being diffrent is a death sentence :(

yes they are really pretty when they are white but the sad truth is these guys dont live long at all..the reason there white same with any other white animal is a skin pigmentaition (sp) the sun and heat tends to hit them harder then there normal color family

Actually, buddy, the "sad truth" is that you have no bloody idea what you're talking about.

The only disadvantage a lion has from being white is that it is easily visible to it's prey, and has to be a more fierce predator to feed.

The white pigment actually keeps the animal COOL, instead of what you suggest. It's simply a recessive chinchilla color inhibitor.

Also, its fur protects it from sun damage.

Study up on an animals natural defenses before you go around claiming it's vulnerable.

Albino's skin is actually more subceptable to burning from the sun, thats why white people get sunburned very easily and black people don't. Skin pigmentation makes a difference, not the fur colour.

White tigers and lions usually have a brain problem that can make problems for their visual system.

There are also other conditions related to white tigers/lions that is unsual in normal ones

White tigers are inbreeds and have a number of health problems.:

Strabismus

Hip problems.

Depression

Heart problems

other genetic defects

same goes for todays white lions (although there havent been so many problems yet there are still alot of inbreeding like the white tiger)

And yes everyone can check this out, this is medical fact everyone can check out for themselves. Even a stubborn retard like yourself.

Well, Idonthinkso7331does have a point. They do have many other problems but most of these stem from inbreeding to perpetuate the pigment. I don't know how badly it affects camouflage for wild lions (Serengeti has a lot of lighter colors), but for wild tigers the pigment is a death sentence.

@Idonthinkso7331 They also have heart and kidney problems i believe, and on rare occasions are actually infertile. I also believe ligers (half tiger half lions) suffer simillar disabilities though most of those die a year after birth.
