@jonesy97 You mean the middle man? Don't fool yourself. The only reason you get so much lime-light is because you work on the flight-line. Ever hear of AF articles of your back-shop? Me neither.
@liOVERLOADil Ah, I was beginning to wonder how long it would take an Ammo troop to chime in. I was starting to think that maybe all you guys really are thick skinned! Jk.
You're right. Everyone wants to see the load, but nobody seems to want to know how they got there.
Yah...That reporter was a tard...for starters "A1C" Nicholas Nichols obviously has three stripes on EACH sleeve...Good job TWICE Jackass Joswiak...Secondly, he obviously has his facts jacked. It may have taken us four hours, but that was waiting for stockpile to deliver components and then restore...AND we were taking our time and StaffukinSGT is right...when gaurd/reserve is present...thinks have to be triple checked. Lastly...we are all AMMO!!! Quit hatin'!!!
Damn the memories, Minot in the 5FIS, and Guam in the 43rd Bomb Wing. I so miss the fun. Yup it was fun back then. Twist em in, tote em out, and watch em leave to ensure the enemy dies for his country. I AM AMMO SO I AM THE SHIT!!!
I miss being an ammo guy. Spent my time with the arming wire and screwing in fuses. Been a long time ago though. Now I sit behind a damn computer most of my day......... (down grade).
I was a 462 weapons loader on F-111's during Desert Storm '91. Man, we sure did appreciate you guys, giving us the goods to work with. We had a 96% release rate to target, and a lot of that's due to diligent bomb building. It's a little late, but well done, people!
I was part of the crew, we were not surging at the time and the reporter is a dumbass. as for the bombs and have you guys ever built 38s its a pain in the ass, 12s are much more easy to build
I feel you on that one, maybe in a training class. When I was in if my crew did that shitty I'd be kicking some ass. Also it's not Munitions Assembly Center. The C stands for conveyor.
FAIL! You would think "Excellence in all we do" would include getting your facts straight.

All of them wish they were the loaders. The superstars of the flightline.

Isn't that horribly ironic? "It drops and nothing happens and it's a dud, people could die over it."

Uhm, Guam is the 36th Fighter wing. Yeah, the numbers are horrible. We built 640 within 48 hours at Whiteman for operation "just kidding".
bolognapogna73 1 year ago
About the build rate, have to keep in mind half the bomb dump was guard/reserve, and only a few of them knew what they were doing.

36 in four hours? We did almost five times that on Diego, while we were hungover.

Yeah we were all over that. I went TDY to Guam for last year's CAPEX then it followed me back to Kadena this year lol. Great fun though.

36 GBU-38's in 4 hours? Shit, we knocked out 36 in 45 minutes at CAPEX 2 months ago.... sad. But I guess it makes sense if you don't need to rush.

If they're humping, 3 mins a bomb should be the std...the first load is always the longest to start
