@ir10031981 That's why it worked so well! In wrestling, you need to have a good guy talking up the faces and a bad guy talking up the heels. They played off of each other so well because of this. It also made for entertaining television seeing them argue and bicker all of the time. If people agree all the time aka two faces/two heels it wouldn't be half as fun!

Gorilla knew how to sell angles. He did a good job of putting over Mr. T. When it comes to putting people over, Monsoon, Heenan, McMahon, Ventura and Hayes were the best at it, and before anybody gets on me about Hayes, listen to his commentary during those MSG shows. Lord Alfred Hayes knew how to put a match over, ESPECIALLY when it came to undercard matches. Lord Alfred Hayes was a very, very underrated commentator in the 80s.
