  • nice vidio at mcadam...looking at a train going by is great. Too look out from inside

one is better..nice job....bob burns (emr railway)

  • Thanks Bob - I agree, the best view is from inside.

  • oops,...yeah, forgot about that, i remember when i was 13, i was standing, looking at a train on a mainline siding, and the crew asked me if i wanted to come see the cab,....man, i flew up that ladder in no time,(SD40-2). It was right in Las Vegas, next to a freeway, and i thought, they were so nice, i hope they dont get reported, but this was back in the early 70's...alot more lax back then.

  • Have'nt found a good cab ride video yet, to hell with looking out the window, we want to see the crew, inside the cab and the manipulation of the controls on the ARR control stand....SOME ACTION!!!!!

  • Yes, I agree, but you have to be careful about how much you film. Often people are not really supposed to be in the cabs and one wouldn't want to get the crew in trouble.

  • And also if a crew member films too much and a member of the railroad sees identifing features such as loco numbers and such crew members get in big trouble!

  • I totally agree. The train crew are there to do their job, and I'm fortunate that occasionally I am permitted to watch.

  • I also agree however that if a train is sitting idle there should be no harm in showing a railfan the cab....as long as there is nothing going on!
