  • Dang Bob. Tough situations.

  • Tuesday marks the 7th anniversary of my son Alex's death. He died a soldiers death. So from the beginning I've felt this song to be about him and Me. Robert you being a soldiers son makes it even more important to me. I live near Ft. Lewis WA. Thank You RC

  • Thank you Robert Cray...for your very realistic eye, in all your music threw the years....this is what makes you a "master" of R&B, it IS about the heart !

  • this man he is too much he is a master.sweet inspiration.

  • #Solidarity with Scott Olsen and @OccupyMarines

  • i hate how they treat veterans!

  • I've watched this many times but never once without my eyes growing damp.

  • anyone notice the licence plate of the car with the ribbons on at 1:20?

  • @DruganBifta GENERIC

  • wow! what a song!

  • ROBERT DESERVES WAY MUCH BETTER MV THAN THIS!!!!!! WTF THIS IS MORE LIKE A HOMEY VIDEO WITH LOTS OF STINKY SHOES.

  • @winnlamp Those shoes were filled with men and women with more character, courage and honor than you will every know unfortunately. They died for the likes of us.

  • Incredible song by an important artist!

  • the best song of RC

  • This is simply brilliant - can't get enough of Cray.

  • The melody and lyrics of this tune are wonderful.

The young person believes that it is possible to get a scholarship and applies to Marine Corps.

It is damaged, and and, a certain one dies and returns.

    For whom is it war?

The retaliation will give birth to a new tragedy.

  • takes me back to my youth, a different time, a different place, a different war................... USED UP

  • Vry beautifully done....video and song....it's a shame our armed forces aren't treated with the respect they deserve:(

  • I love Robert - Beautiful Music - Misguided Lyrics

  • oh so true, those lyrics surrouded by a beautifull sad melody, performed with a voice full of soul. I could crie by listening it

  • Heard him play this one live and got a huge lump in my throat... his guitar and his voice weep together as one.

  • President Obama plays good guitar and sings too. That';s amazing!!

  • Why is this ina Jonathan Coulton-mix???

  • This is a very nice melody but the lyrics are quite harsh. I think it is an individual response to reinventing ones self. Yes, there are mothers without sons and men/women without limb but where do you want to be if there was not someone on that side of the gun you don't want to be on. Yeah, it's a tough call. but don't call American's bad or those that want to serve this country bad. We do want what is good. And that is shown by our contribution to the good of this world.

  • Chilling-wasn't sure I could watch the whole thing without breaking down.

  • im still shaking with this song..the way robert approaches into every song is brilliant.. wonderful

  • nice piece of work!!

  • powerful video!

  • Great Message. I hope someday stop this wars where american lives are lost. I am sorry very much for these soldiers and their families. Lo siento mucho por estos soldados y sus familias.

  • Oh Robert. What would i do without your music. Never stop doing what you do best. Wonderful song, wonderful lyrics, wonderful message.

  • Robert Cray

  • A lot of these soldiers are deviants. Meaning they love and live to be in the "shit". So the recruiters love it when they are like that. It's pretty fucked up and sick

  • @e1gorman You are right the soldiers are not confused. They believe in what their government tells them (just as you do), and thats worse. Maybe it's also right that the soldiers doesn't target civilians, but for the most of the soldiers it doesn't matter who dies. To many civilians died in "accidents" or "misunderstandings" that could have been avoided.

I think in the USA, like in China or Iran, citizens doesn't get all the information they should get.

  • @e1gorman HEY DUMB ASS,DID YOU LISTEN TO THIS B4 YOU WROTE GARBAGE?NO U DIDNT!!

  • American death counts spiking again in our endless war in Irakistan:

    "...somebody told you a lie..."

Thank you Robert---hits the nail square on the head

  • @slowuncle I think he men't the recruiting officer.

  • thought of this beautifully poignant song on this 9th anniverary of 911.....so many lost to the facade....

  • Looks like the body bag comes to life at 1:47

  • @moderndarkage They're soldiers in sleeping bags. That's why some of them are lying on their sides. They're all wrapped up because of a sandstorm. :(

  • Where have all the soldiers gone? Long time passing Where have all the soldiers gone? Long time ago Where have all the soldiers gone? Gone to graveyards every one When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn? Where have all the graveyards gone? Long time passing Where have all the graveyards gone? Long time ago Where have all the graveyards gone? Covered with flowers every one When will we ever learn? When will we ever learn?
  • C'est exceptionnel.

    Amitiés

    Annabelle.

  • cry for all ogf the lost souls lost in this war

  • Beautiful, haunting, and poignant, this song and video tell the horror of war from a very personal perspective. Regardless of your political perspective, this video shows the costs of war on a human scale without romanticizing or glorifying it.
