That is quite possibly the numbest audience I've ever seen. I get the feeling they wandered into the wrong theatre. They probably all had Kenny Rogers tickets or something....
Don is still very much alive and peforming. He is an awesome talent and will go down as one of the great American singer songwriters. Don you are indeed a great piece of American pie.

Attack of the 70s! Dig the bass player's leathers and feathery layered 'do. Maclean makes some weird chord substitution choices on the guitar. The surfy-reverb drenched lead guitar really tanks this version. Maclean also goes flat on a couple of high notes in the climax. Would like to see him do this alone, without the 2 posers. This is a very tough song to nail, even for pros, as evidenced here.
Yes, he's very much alive. I'm going to see him at the Keswick in Pa. this November. Its that audience that was dead. They deserved the American Pie that was out of tune!
Always risky to sing anything made standard by Roy.Great job By Don McLean.

All you knuckleheads that bashed this performance don't know anything about talent. For a live act, this is awesome.

@songomz
He's very much alive and is touring Europe where he is a great star, much the
same as Eva Cassity before she passed.I have been a fan for over 30 years.
