  • If you don't mind me asking... How much did you pay for the RB25? And would that engine fit in a 1995 240sx?

  • @TJGibsonProductions $3k for the modified setup out of the Skyline; and that was years ago. Yes it would fit in a S14, but you'd need a different mount kit.

  • Dam an RB25 and a girl who likes to work on cars? Gudlyfe

  • must b nice

  • so you have too remove all the stock wire or you leave it there

  • @subarufansti neither, you have to modify the some 240's harness with some of the RB's harness.

  • dude sick video, im thinking about doing the same swap over the sr20

  • ty for the info

  • DAM YALL DID A GOOD JOB ON THAT CAR IM DOING THE SAME THING TO MY S14 IM TAKING OUT THE KA24DE AND PUTTING A RB25DET .CANT U TELL ME IF U HAD TO CHANGE WIRE HARNESS ARE DID U RIG UP THE OLD HARNESS FROM THE KA INTO THE RB JUST LET ME NO TY .

  • @007nizzan look on Nico club's RB25 swap area for more information. Yes you do have to modify the harness. I do not recommend doing the harness yourself unless you know how to solder and have basic electronic knowledge. This is not an area to skimp on and there are many options to pay and have it done for you correctly.

  • SOUNDS GOOD wide open

  • i thought u had to knock the firewall back to make the rb's fit?

  • @guccamain no, not the RB25 and S13 combo. All you have to do is bang the firewall where the starter goes.

  • @chixwithtrix interesting i thought u also had to cut the tranny tunnel to make the transmission fit the right way

  • @guccamain fit the right way? I think you might be thinking of the RB26. Do a Google search, butt loads of info out there that will answer your questions. The RB25 is a pretty easy swap except for the wiring.

  • @chixwithtrix well not nessicarily the right way but i heard u had to like pull the motor to swap out the starter

  • @guccamain maybe, never had to change the starter. Most people just hammer the firewall where the starter is.

  • @chixwithtrix did the girl drift cuz i shat a brick?

  • @S3cK5hun8 it was my car so yeah, I drifted it whenever it actually ran

  • Very clean man! im joining the rb club in a couple months!! rb20 though haha

  • you dont have to make excuses as to why your drifting sucked. Thats a big big difference going from a ka or sr to a big ol rb. a lot more of a power and torque difference there.

  • @awgdawg16 and alot of weight, i would take a ka or sr over a rb for drifting anyday

  • I remember this on a forum i guess they linked it lol..Never seen a girl get dwn on cars like that.. sure miss my 240 coupe, oh well im rollin in a 91 se-R stock sr20de ftmfw !! :D

  • nice build. i been thinking of a motor swap to do in my 88 conquest.

  • do you have the exaust ass straight pipe or how ??

  • @RG5EX11 yes, straight pipe

  • your girl knows alot about engines and cars aperently good job mans dream well my dream to have a women like that lol

  • @inuzukakiba1995 I am the chick from the vid. Thanks though, I can't understand why more women don't like mechanics. Its rewarding to work on a vehicle or machine yourself. I currently rebuild motorcycles and engine for a side job. My fiancee and I are just finishing up a motorcycle engine swap. Pretty fun stuff.

  • @chixwithtrix lol srry bought that and i know right at least you wont b one of those chicks on the side of the road not knowing ho to changle a tire and paying somdeone to do it lol but dang very nice...what bike is it and what engine r u puttng in?

  • @inuzukakiba1995 its a little mini we've been riding and racing with friends. CRF100 engine going into a more superior CR80 frame. There is a whole post about it with photos and more info on my blog modifiedlifestyle(dot)com and my other latest engine drop and chassis mod project for my Aprilia SXV 550 on my other blog chixwithtrix(dot)com

  • @chixwithtrix dang wish i had the money u had lol or the job u have if that is what u do for a living must be epic!

  • @chixwithtrix just know remembered that u said it was a side job lol

  • @inuzukakiba1995 yeah, I rebuild bikes as a side job, mostly its a hobby. My main job isn't so fun

  • @chixwithtrix Almost nobody's main job is as fun as your side job lol. You guys from Houston? How's the tuner scene down there, cause it sucks here in Fort Worth.

  • @BigRed10287 Houston is a big car city. A lot of ghetto cars barely making it down the road, but a lot of imports and exotics too.

  • I was reading your thread and the abrupt ending brought a tear to my eye. :/

  • @AutomaterMastermind yes, it still makes me sad when I think about it. Great learning experience, sad to see it go though.

  • i just got my 93 240sx hatch about 2 mounths ago...i used alot of what u used...if it wasent for this vid i would still be searching for stuff lol...i completed it last week mayb one day ill see u on the track ;)

  • i know you have to get mounts and wiring is there any thing else like fitting the shifter and transmission? or does it all bolt in once you get the mounts?

  • @MrStinkeyWinkey if you buy mounts built for the swap there are no other modifications needed.

  • @chixwithtrix ok cool thanks for that info man!

  • im looking into a swap for my 240 and im stuck between a vh45 and a rb25...both are just so damn sexy...if i were to go with the rb, yours is what id like mine to be like. props man.

  • @PurcellMotorSports26 Series 2, straight pipe exhaust

  • are there any modifications you had to do besides the custom mounts?

  • @98445whoelse convert the wiring harness

  • @chixwithtrix did you have to do any rewiring and how hard was it to convert the wiring harness?

  • @wrp247 yes, look on Nico Club in the RB forum and that will get you going in the right direction

  • @JSt1tch A friend's wrecked Skyline

  • did this motor just bolt in, or did you have to make custom mounts?

  • @DivergentButton its not a bolt in engine. There are many manufacturers who make RB/240sx mounts, I ordered mine from McKinney

  • thinking about doing the same swap but i got an s14. problem is its an automatic know of any problems i might run into?

  • @niggaimfromcompton an automatic trans on the RB? I have no idea what problems that will cause. Try NICO club.

  • ah girl helping out...thats hot!

  • @bubbleboyE40 not only helping out, it was my car.

Technically my bf was the one helping out, but we both did a helluva lot of work.

  • @chixwithtrix dang! very nice

i got the same car lol but its not as nice...i got the RB25det in it though! paid 2k, for my car with the RB25det

  • do u use the stock tranmission for the rb25 motor?????

  • not bad... just helped my buddy do a RB20DET swap into his coupe 4 months back... just did a SR20DET swap (my 2nd SR) and ive been thinkin of building up a RB25 swap and getting rid of my SR20... RB sounds good... 1 thing i find it hard to find is RB25's that sound like this /watch?v=qu8XbPG7sRs&playnext=1&list=PL857D4BC796AA43C9

    orgasmic check it out!

  • sweet vid!! so what you driving now??

  • @jhaze918 I don't have any more performance cars, I went to the dark side and ride motorcycles for my fast fix these days. 2005 Yamaha R1 sport bike, 0-60 in about 3.5 seconds. I daily drive a 2005 Toyota Matrix if that matters lol.

  • @chixwithtrix AWWWW!!!! not cool!! lol j/k

    chick + rb25 = sexy

chick + r1 = sexy your still good haha...anyway ive contemplated selling my rb25 for a bike...just not sure if i could do that =] ive drivin the toyota matrix enough to know how SLOWW it is lmao...although it will burn tires if you floor it around a corner haha

  • @jhaze918 at least I have the XRS 6spd manual Matrix with about 180hp..but yeah, its slow. Gets 30mpg so thats really what matters.

I love my R1, out performs my RB25 car in spades. Carving corners is an amazing feeling. Bikes are more dangerous than cars obviously...but the best bang for your buck. I want to take it to a track day sometime and really get into the corners. The fastest I've been on a bike so far is 170mph on my previous bike, I think the R1 tops out around 180mph indicated.

  • @chixwithtrix thats a nice little daily driver...gas mileage counts the most!!! unfortunately for me my daily is just as bad on gas as my rb haha...only plus is i dont need premium, although with gas prices rising i may as well be putting premium lmao...

bikes are badass, and MUCH more dangerous than cars...which is not a good thing for me cause i tend to get careless sometimes...you got balls for a chick to hit those speeds on a bike =]

  • i want her

  • @999damnit me, the engine, or the car?

Car has been dismantled, engine I sold to my bf for his classic Z project, and me...you don't want me. I have too many issues like the rest of the world's women! :]

  • @chixwithtrix maybe i like girls with issues :) and not every woman out there can drift and be cute

  • I got a 94 RX-7 with a RB25DET swap. Talk about a pain in the ass swap. so much wiring rewiring & cutting. I should've just got a 20B 3 rotar put in it. lol.

  • @eclipsegsx765 yes that would be a pain to swap. I used to have a FB and FC RX-7, you are so much better off with the RB than you would have been with a 3-rotor! I don't like rotaries...the first one blew its apex seals right after I bought the car, and the other 13B-REW out of a FD blew its apex seals and munched my turbo from the previous owner...that I didn't know about beforehand.

  • @chixwithtrix Ya lol I'm saying that now. But when i get the RB running & it's gonna be fun to drive & probably better engine to choose. Was thinking of a 2jz but idk. lol

  • @eclipsegsx765 I wish I would have gone 2JZ, the RB25 is cool and sounds great, but they are heavy and parts are not the easiest to find sometimes.

  • @chixwithtrix Ya & there pretty expensive to.

  • Just wondering if you have ever done an SR swap? How much harder is the RB25 compared to the SR?

  • @ilovesd90macs RB swap is harder than an SR since the wiring, engine mounts, and tranny mounts have to be changed. Neither swap is all that difficult if you are handy with tools and a soldering iron. I'd suggest getting the wiring done by someone if you aren't electrically inclined.

  • @chixwithtrix If you're lucky enough to have both: the S13, and a RB25 swap; you can buy a prewired harness from WS which will make the swap much easier and less time consuming. The downside is that the harness is $500, but if you're not good with wiring this would probably be the best option.

  • @Bassachusetts are you talking to me or the other guy... because we did all our the wiring ourselves and I don't even own the car anymore.

  • @chixwithtrix Yeah I was just replying to that saying if you aren't electrically inclined that's another option :P

  • @Bassachusetts gotcha, thats a good suggestion for sure.

  • do you have any trouble with over heating, jw because you covered the entire radiator with the intercooler

  • @mattferg84 Never really had enough time driving the car to know, it kept breaking. Before I sold everything we were working on a v-mount setup to get the intercooler off of the radiator.

  • @chixwithtrix that would have been really cool. Great job with swap though and I love the time lapse!

  • Hey I remember you guys! Safety wired a cooling fan to your radiator that came loose one day at mineral wells.

  • @daryl75052 ahahha, I remember that! That was the same event shown in the video, the car definitely needed some help on its first day after the swap.

  • do you go to the events anymore

  • @monstermiataman yep, not as a driver though. I am a photographer/videographer so I still attend events to watch and shoot.

  • was your 240 a super hicas ? and did u ever fix the under steer prob ?

  • @toreyki yes it was hicas. I removed the hicas subframe and put in a non-hicas subframe, pretty easy. Also removed all the hicas lines and such.

It didn't have an understeer problem, the drifting you see in this video was pretty crappy. We all had been up for 36hours finishing the swap, the car was under-tired since we only had old used drift spares for tires and they had no grip. The car's suspension hadn't been setup either, pretty much we were at the event to test the swap.

  • @chixwithtrix o ok, this was a nice swap i think i may have seen this posted on nico or zilvia or somthin , hows the car doing now ? and why did u not keep at abs ?

  • @toreyki The ABS was f'd up on this car, old Nissan ABS is too shoddy to trust reliably.

The car isn't around anymore. Sold the engine and subframe to my boyfriend for his 240Z project. Tried to give the chassis away for free with title, nobody came to pick it up, ended up going to the scrap yard. It was a sad end to a great car.

  • @chixwithtrix :o i woulda taken itt.

  • Hey man quick question what all do yo leave in the engine bay after tearin the ka out even though i had a sohc im sure its simular im in the military and my dad is doin the swap for me so i gotta step by step it

  • @traviscarter21 go on the RB25 NICO club forums and/or buy the RB25 swap DVD, that should answer your questions better than me here on YouTube.

  • How much do you think a stock rb25 swap would cost?

  • @shocker792 they're getting cheaper...maybe $3k-$5k these days, but its been a while since I've been in the 240sx scene.

  • Where did you get the rb25 from?

  • @AutomaterMastermind a friend who had a wrecked skyline

  • Why do all you yanks use that mckinney kit? Are R32/C33/A31 subframes rare

    in the states or something?

  • @IamTurboBen I didn't have access to one, didn't come with my swap. And I like how they sit the engine lower.

  • yeeeeaaaaa swap that ka for an rb!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wait the way you mounted your intercooler doesn't that mean you wont be able to use your pop up head lights or there won't be enought clearance?

  • @JamaicanBoy41 I didn't need the headlights, it was a track only car. I did remove them and routed the intercooler piping there for shorter pipes.

  • are those new femders ? if so where did you get it from ?

  • @easyduzitkevin I this video no, they are all stock. I later went aftermarket fenders - I bought them used/was given wrecked ones and fixed them. I think the fronts were Origin, and the rears were something random. I didn't care at the time since they were free after a friend wrecked his car. For wide rear fenders you will need to cut and weld the stock rear fenders.

  • hey im still trying to find out what kind of project i want but whats better rb25 or ls1 460 for this kind of car???

  • @bikecrazydan

ls1 is gonna be lighter than the rb25, but i have a feeling the 25 swap would be easier

  • @bikecrazydan totally different engine for different uses. The LS1 is a lot lighter, but yes, it will be a more expensive swap. If you are drifting I would suggest a dry-sump system for the LS1 since they have oiling issues, and that makes it even more expensive. With the LS1 you don't have to deal with the turbo stuff which can be nice. LS1s have lots of torque, RBs sound awesome and are cheaper...really is up to you what you can afford, complete, and use.

  • nevermind answered my own question

  • Comment removed

  • awesome video it's always interesting too see how other people do things i like the intercooler set-up at the slight angle...

  • girlfriend that helps with the swap, a keeper haha

  • Where's the old motor

  • @mjt117 sold it years ago

  • nice set up. motor sound good

  • question, im looking on doing a rb25 swap and was wondering what i need to do it.

  • @madman53 check out NICO club forums, that will have all the answers

  • where did you get the engine from?

  • @Xanerotti a friend here locally who had a wrecked R33 he used to race. After a friend wrecked his car into a wall on track he parted it out for cheap.

  • great video! i know from the description that you were taking it easy but it seems as though you were trying to power over in the first turn. was that intentional?

  • @ISeanzyyyI I honestly don't really know what I was doing. I was up for over 24 hours when I was driving in this video because the swap was finished the night before this event and we had to drive over 4 hours to get to it. Plus I was coming down with a nasty cold and had some NyQuil action going. From what it looks like in the video I was trying to weight shift like I used to with the KA, only when I added throttle it was more powerful than the KA, I would spin. It had crap coilovers then too.

  • Dude I really think I am in love!!

  • I don't know wtf to say about this video.

You and your girl are fucking adoracute together, first off. Second off, NICE inspirational for everyone out there makin' their swap dreams come true.

This is my favorite video on youtube. I'm gunna make it my homepage. Fucking brilliant, I'm subbing you.

    -Rachel

  • @NinjaGirlRachel adoracute...I like that word.

When you want to do something you just have to make it happen!

  • girls that work on cars and drift = sexy

  • rough estimate how much did the entire swap run you guys????

  • @mechanics4life I got a great deal on the engine and bolt ons, so it was around $5k for the engine and peripherals and the swap parts.

  • is this pretty much the same process for a s14

  • bro anyone that has a chick that will help you actually work on you ride ..... fuck , that chick is a fuckin SOLDIER and you better keep for for a while

  • @Red97Avenger thing is, the 240 is my car, not my bf's. He was helping me with the swap and was great help. He on the other hand has a turbo miata that used to me mine. Fun times, I miss the car.

  • @chixwithtrix damn girl ! i wish there were more females like you around . thats the sexiest shit ever ! even better than a chick that likes to shoot bad ass guns . sorry for callin you bro and thinking it was your mans cars lol . im just so stoked that all females arent preppy stuck up bitches that wouldnt do manual labor if their life depended on it . i somehow attract that type unfortunately ....

  • what mounting kit and rad/fan setup did you use?

  • @ISeanzyyyI mount kit was McKinney. My radiator/fan setup was custom using a large Griffin rad with two e-fans.

  • @chixwithtrix shit is ILL !

  • nice. a chick that knows about cars is a keeper! nice vid and car im in the process of doing that swap too

  • How would you have the original transmission from the car aliefdrumline? that makes no sense. Nice build i looked at the webpage

  • what do you mean original transmission? The RB25 came with a RWD setup, not AWD like the RB26. Its easy to have the original tranny when you swap these...

  • when you did the engine swap was there any kind of modifications you had to do to the engine bay? what about motor mounts and tranny mounts?

  • Used McKinney engine mount kit with 240sx crossmember. Only thing I had to 'modify' was hammering the firewall where the starter motor was so it would fit.

  • is that at the mineral wells old airport????

  • yep

  • Congrats on the build.

How much is she putting out??

  • @loyaltothegame11 read the description, 330hp

  • oh my thats hot! chick that knows more than most guys, o.O

  • was the tranny the rb25 tranny or from the the original car??

  • It was a RB25 transmission

  • Love how you guys are constantly cruising Zilva the whole time. I do the same, always double checking.

  • Zilvia is actually one of the forums I use the least, just happened that there were some good wiring guys there that helped me with on of my wiring issues. Mainly hang on NICO and some local 240sx/drift forums. Either way they are all super helpful.

  • lol is the intercooler upside down?

  • they don't have a certain position...some cars even have them with inlet/outlet on top and bottom.

  • Hey nice build! I finishing up mine... I almost went with an RB25 too.... I found a killer deal on a VQ35de though. I like the video and that your gf helped you with this. Not enough of the female gender in drifting or under the hood for that matter. GL to ya! maybe swing down to Texas to drift.

  • its my car, I'm the chick, not the guy : )

  • Whoops! Well cool! :-)

  • not the best at drifting but this is one great build.

    2 thumbs up!!!!

  • yep, the drifting sucks at the end, but hey, we wanted to baby the fresh swap and the car didn't have enough tire in the rear for the power increase. The drifting footage was taken only hours after the swap was completed so I was happy it drove at all!

  • im not worrying too much about the build... i just need to get more in touch wireing the sucka up... just a question iv havenet seen too much... beside the engine lift... what special SPECIAL tools are needed??? and website is this more detailed? THANK YOU

  • posted a link to my full build thread and current mods in the video info

  • oh haha nice

  • hey i have a 98-240 do i need to buy like a kit to intall the rb or not

  • always have to buy a kit for a 240 if you are putting in a RB25, no matter the year

  • no but you can. I would because it'd be easier

  • pretty cool.. ur bf is lucky guy

  • that's really cool to see a girl doing this type of stuff, sucks that this is male dominated thing, i wish knew a girl that actually knows a lot about this stuff

  • Awesome time lapse, great song choice too. I would have thought that cutting out the steel at the top where the top of the original radiator used to be would have decreased rigidity, but I guess not?

  • no decrease in rigidity since we welded it back in. It just helped get the engine in there easier

  • Oh, I see. Keep doing your thing!

  • nevermind i know who u guys are ur on Houston 240 hu? im on there too ive seen the thread

  • yeah, the build thread is on h240

  • you guys are the coolest F'in couple!

  • cant wait to see you at mean streets austin with that beast :)

  • We're in TX

  • wow bad ass swap..where yall located at im getting a 92 240 coupe jan.5 and wanting to do a rb swap.how much would yall charge??

  • yeah I'm the chick and its my car :)

  • No shit its her car, ha thats awsome lol
