  • Beautifully sung and I don't care if she is a lesbian so long as she doesn't practice it but I believe Christ died for our sins and not for our tears. Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior comes first followed by tears of repentance. Christ died for our SINS and not REPENTANCE.

  • Something beautiful

  • Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, shed his sinnless precious blood on the cross for sinners, was buried in the tomb, and on the third day arose again according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). God says this is the only way a guilty sinner can go free, and have eternal life, and have his sins paid for, is by trusting alone in the account God has given of his Son Jesus Christ. (Romans 1:16, John 3:16, John 14:6, John 3:18). Without trusting Christ alone you will go to hell. Rev 21:8

  • Instead of wrangling over the shortcomings of the author of this song, why don’t we just listen to the song? There is spiritual truth and encouragement to be found in it.

  • god wants a 2 live a life of truth. thanks marsha for not wearing a religious mask like some christians.

  • In 1971 Marsha Stevens became the mother of CCM [c-rock] with her song "For those tears I died". Marsha is of course a militant Lesbian, who started B.A.L.M [Born Again Lesbian Music]. With a 'mother' like Marsha is it any wonder CRock has given birth to so many spiritually retarded children [like P.O.D]?

  • @martinthezman you said it!

  • I just got the Children of the Day first album, reissue on cd, WOW, fantastic! I know the story and I am in the more concervative camp of Christianity, so I really can't find anywhere in the Bible where Homosexuality is presented in a positive light, so I would not recommend it but I am not all people so I dont know how they are wired or what has happened to them, but the most important thing is love even if you dont agree with lifestyle choices...........

  • @justclassicalguitar AMEN... WE SPEAK THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL... IN GOD'S LOVE!

  • What an inspiring song from my past but now that I've read some of the comments I'm concerned about the song writer having changed paths and I hope Mr. Gaither was exhibiting Christ's love and not solidarity with sin?!!

  • Of course i know the bible talks about judging others. Did u even bother to read the verses that i included in my comments? I even said that we dont have a right to judge the outsiders but WE DO HAVE a right to judge those inside the church who are sinning. again, thats in 1Cor. 5:9-13. What they're doing is a BLASPHEMY !! Im jas wondering if their god is that same God that I obey.

  • we must align ourselves with the bible and never try to align the bible to ourselves. we must be holy because He is holy (1 peter 1:16) how can Jesus live in an unholy temple? I pray that both these ladies come to their senses and stop sinning.. and i wonder who married them..i hope not some pastor, priest or somebody who claims to be a believer. keep on doing that and you wont see the kingdom of God (1 cor.6:9-10). i suggest she STOPS singing/writing songs and STARTS READING THE BIBLE MORE

  • @odanges The bible also talks about judging others. I suggest that you read up on that too.

  • @okdaddybear1

I quote what the bible teach me, maybe u need to read the bible too so u'll knw wut im tlkn bout.

  • i am so shocked to find out that this lady is married to another lady and they call themselves christians or believers? does she ever read her bible? we dont have the right to judge the outsiders or unbelievers but we do have a right to judge our brothers and sisters in christ (read 1 cor. 5:9-13) yes, Jesus loves us and He can forgive but we ought not to keep on sinning coz if we do, then we become the children of the devil (read 1 john 3:9-10).

  • @odanges and where exactly do you find yourself PERFECT and without blemish at all? then and ONLY then can you judge anyone! :) Get a grip on REALITY, sistah!

  • ie. i used to drive like 40 miles to calvary chapel from NORWALK. THE BEACH PEOPLE THERE SEEM TO THINK THAT THE L.A. PEOPLE WERE MUCH WORSE SINNERS THAN THEM. LIL SURFER BOYS LOOKING INTO YOUR EYES TRYING TO DESCERN YOU. UNCOMFORTABLE. IT'S NO WONDER SINCE THE X-FOOTBALL PLAYER CHUCK SMITH TOUGH GUY RAN THE PLACE. NEVER FELT QUITE WELCOME. NO WONDER THE LOW-RIDERS FROM MY COMMUNITY USED TO GO TO THE BEACHES TO CHASE THEIR LIL BUTTS IN TO THE WATER. SAD BUT TRUE. LOVE SONG WAS GREAT THOUGH

  • I GIVE UP ON TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. I LIKE WHAT ONE MINISTER ON THE TV SAID "THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH CHRISTINATY IS THE CHRISTIANS" ANY CIRCLE ANY WHERE IN THIS COUNTRY HAS IT'S INTERNAL PROBLEMS WITH JUDGEMENT OF EACHOTHER AND THE UNBELIEVERS. SO WHAT DO YA DO? YOU TELL ME. HAVE YET TO BE IN A CONGREGATION WHERE I FELT JUST TOTALLY ACCEPTED WITHOUT JUDGEMENT. SO HOW DO WE EXPECT NONBELIEVERS TP PUT UP WITH US?

  • OH YES AND MY NEXT QUESTION IS WHY DO THE GAITHERS ASSOCIATE WITH THIS MARSHA GIRL IF SHE IS PRACTICING GAY AND PROMOTING GODS' ACCEPTANCE OF SUCH PRACTICES? BEING SUCH A SOLID BIBLE TEACHING AND PREACHING GROUP AS IS CALVARY CHAPEL COSTA MESA AS WE ALL KNOW. CHUCK PUT LONNIE FRISBY OUT OF THE MINISTRY DUE TO THE SAME REASON. TELL ME WHAT DO WE DO WITH BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO ARE IN SIN TO SOME EXTENT WHEN THEY ARE SO TALENTED AND USEFUL TO THE UNBELIEVING LISTENERS?

  • @TAYLORMADEMUSICify You have to start at the beginning. When Marsha Steven wrote "For those tears I died", she was married. No one knew she was a lesbian then. She 'came out' later. But I don't know what the Gaithers actually knew about her. I was at the concert in Phoenix. She was well known in Christian music circles. Bill did have a picture taken with her back stage. But he says he did not know and he has stated publicly he believes homosexuality is sin.

  • (2) I'm sure the Gaithers do not associate with her on any regular basis. She wasn't invited to the Phoenix Concert, she just showed up. The Gaithers know many Christian artists and her song was known by millions of Christians. I sang it for years and I had not a clue about her being gay. People who were back stage said it appeared to them that Bill was caught off guard. She walked up to him and her 'girlfriend' quickly took a picture.

  • (3) We don't know what he knew at that time, so I can't be upset with him. He associates with Sandi Patti, Michael English and they have been divorced, same for Bonnie Keen. The difference is that these people have sincerely repented.

To answer your question about what to do. The answer is in 1 Cor 5: starting with verse 9. We need to separate ourselves until they repent. We should still pray that they will turn from their sin, but scripture is clear that we must judge immorality.

  • OK SO I STAND CORRECTED CONCERNING THE SIN FACTOR AND THE GREATS OF GOD. I DO NOT EXCUSE LONNIE FRISBY OR MARSHA STEVENS IF IN FACT THEY CONTINUED IN THEIR PRACTICES AFTER REGENERATION. HOMOSEXUALITY WILL NEVER EVER BE PLEASING TO GOD. BUT BEING HUMAN MYSELF I TEND TO GO EASY ON ANYONE ELSES SIN. SOMEONE ELSES SIN ALWAYS SEEMS MORE SEVERE THAN OUR OWN FOR SOME STRANGE BUT FAMILIAR REASON. HUH. GOD SPEED

  • I WAS THERE AT CALVARY CHAPEL COSTA MESA LISTENING TO THIS BY "CHILDREN OF THE DAY" OFTEN. GREAT SONG. WHY SO MUCH ANGER SURROUNDING THIS ARTIST. LOOK AT MOSES AND DAVID. THEY WERE MURDERS AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELAS. APOSTLE PAUL WAS A KILLER OF CHRISTIANS. JUST TRUST GOD KIDS. LOVE ALWAYS FIRST.

  • @TAYLORMADEMUSICify Moses was defending another Israelite and David got forgiveness for what he did. David also repented and lived a good life. Apostle Paul never personally killed Christians. He also got saved. God demands that we all repent. We can't claim that we are saved and continue in our sins.

  • who sings it doesnt matter: He can choose whomever.. dont be quick 2 judge 4 the same measure u use shall be used on u! & His commandments He shall write on our hearts & His laws in our heads and on those of the generations 2 come...& 2 some a heart of stone is given tht His word should come to pass...& the greatest is love! 4 we dont battle against flesh but rather princialities & powers of darkness....not by might nor by power but by His grace, r we saved pray 4 fellow sinners but dont judge

  • @bambi360ish You should know that God does not condone homosexuality just like any other sin. Jesus doesn't save us so that we can continue in or sins, He wants us to depart from them.

  • He will only forgive you if you ask!!!

  • I am saddened by some of the comments here.... wasn't it our Lord Jesus who said the he who is without sin should cast the first stone? Who of you is perfect enough to judge another human being. I am a sinner that beieves in the Son of God and he in his mercy and grace gave me the right to be called a child of God. Not for anything that I have done or not done but by the Grace of God and the death of His Son on the cross at calvary. He died as an atonement for our sin, once and for ALL.

  • @rolly1948 AMEN! And GOD bless you. You stated it perfectly clear. If believers could just have faith and understand GOD's mercy, they wouldn't make these comments. He is so forgiving and merciful.......GOD bless you.

  • Oh......... :-( people...........such slander and misinformation.........I will only tell you, you have the WRONG Marsha Stevens........................I have nothing to say about being gay except "don't assume the role of GOD the ONLY JUDGE.......and get your facts rights........This Marsha must feel devastated. Being MISJUDGED.........SHE IS NOT GAY...........

  • Sorry but you can NOT be a born again christian and be active gay and no i'm not judging just telling how it is.God doesn't hate the sinner he hate the SIN and being gay is a SIN!!!!!!!

  • @amandajoy26 Amen!!!!!

  • Thank you!!

  • Comment removed

  • You know there is a list of sinners in the Bible that God says cannot come into heaven. Every man woman and child fit into the description of who cannot go. That is justice and it demands we pay for our sins. However, Praise God, when justice called, Mercy answered. Our God is a "whosoever" God. If you would not preach the gospel to each and every creature then it is you who has condemned yourself to His Judgment. "For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER."

  • Thank you Jesus, when trials come how often we forget your promises thank you that storms don't last .Thanks for the blood which you shed on the cross, how that you know when we are thirst and that you hear our crys and you do remind us that for all the tears we shed you indeed died for them ,thank you jesus.

  • I am so THANKFUL MY Jesus said Those who Call upon MT Name SHALL BE SAVED!

  • shame, shame, shame in you bill gaither, what are you going to respond to the Lord when you are changing Gods morals, you are a ignorant proud man.

  • @maxileana Friend. you must know some Jesus I'm not familiar with. Yes, we all KNOW that our Lord has said homosexuality is a serious sin. And yes, I believe that completely. I do not know what Ms. Stevens' relationship is with Christ, from what I read it, is not good. But let us remember that David committed adultery and even arranged to have Bathsheeba's husband murdered. Yet God forgave and restored him. Let's pray for Marsha and leave her in HIS hands.

  • @SkiesVibrant Yes but King David didn't continue in his sins. He repented. No one can be trully saved and contnue praticing sin.

  • @1954phyllis I could not agree more. The reason I said that we should leave this in God's hands, is that we don't know what Marsha Stevens is doing now. I've been to her site and it looks like she is joining the people who have decided that God doesn't disapprove of homosexuality. They have gone so far as to decide that David & Jonathon were gay lovers. It's sickening to see the lows people will go to rationalize their sin. Very sad indeed. I do think we all still sin, but we try not to.

  • @SkiesVibrant King David and Johnathan weren't gays.

  • @1954phyllis Of course they weren't. To say otherwise is unthinkable. These people are desperate and they only thing they can do to prop up their sin, is to try to show that its okay to engage in homosexual acts. To do that they have to distort, delete and mangle scripture. Take a look at the Metropolitan Church site. These people have even tried to said that Jesus would have approved of pedophilia based on one remote definition of one greek word. It's just vile.

  • @SkiesVibrant As a straight member of the MCC I can tell you that is total BS. The MCC doers not in any way endorse ANY sexual acts with children.

NOWHERE does Jesus say a single thing about homosexuality.

Marcia wrote this song as a teenager when she was hurting so bad from being rejected by family and some "friends".

  • @Gizmologist09 Nope, I am not wrong. I'll be happy to send you the link. I read it myself. Anyone straight or gay who reads homosexuality into David and Jonathan, etc., is just desperate. You don't get to re-write the gospel to justify sin. God is not amused. God loves gay people but He hates sin and that's exactly what scripture says. In addition you can find the admonition against homosexuality in both the OT and the NT.

  • @SkiesVibrant I would love to read the chapter and verse where JESUS says anything about LGBT folks.

  • @Gizmologist09 That's really quite easy. Start with 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Or... Romans 1:21-27. There are others.

  • @SkiesVibrant Perhaps you misunderstood my statement. JESUS did not say a single syllable about LGBT folks. I met Marsha when she performed and witnessed at our church. Marsha and her ministry have been so helpful for LGBT folks of all ages as well as straights who understand that being gay or transgendered is NOT a choice. It matters not what some preacher may say speaking from a complete lack of factual knowledge as to how a human develops. Following the teaching of JESUS is the key.

  • @Gizmologist09 Nice try, but that is the ultimate in rationalization. Jesus didn't say to drive a car, but I'd guess you drive one. The ENTIRE Bible shouts about the sinfulness of homosexuality and other sexual immorality. Marsha would do well to stop trying to find a way to justify her sin. I recommend that you and her read theh books by Thom Hunter.

    I will pray for you.

  • I had no idea this song was on here. I just remembered it from the early 70's and looked and there it was. Thanks.

  • I'm seeing some comments about the "words about Christ" in this song as being a blessing, and such, too. Ignoring what has already been stated about Ms. Stevens, of which I have been a part, the song in and of itself is not entirely Biblical. Nowhere in my Bible or several other versions I've looked at does it say that Jesus died for your tears; He died for your SIN; He died for you. Tears won't make it to Heaven (Rev 21:4); the question is, will you make it there?

  • @harrywarrenfan It's my considered opinion (your mileage may vary) that the writer is talking about tears of REPENTANCE, not just tears in general... and the wicked cry few tears of ANY sort, let alone repentance. Repenting of our sins and asking Jesus' forgiveness is what He died for. When I hear that song, I yet shed tears of joy and thanks for His sacrifice on Calvary... FOR ME, the chief of sinners.

(I know Paul claimed that title, but I share it, as do all of us!)

  • @dcwusmc It is VERY hard for me to cry & I can think of NO ONE who would consider me a wicked person. Please rethink this comment. Many Many Blessings to you & yours . HIS will be done !

  • @pamelasu65 I know that people cry or don't at their own pace. I, too, found it hard to cry. Now, not so much. Not crying much does not make you wicked, not in any way. We are BORN wicked, ALL of us. It is only through God's grace and mercy that we can repent and become "sinners saved by face." I hope that you are one and I can meet you one day at the House, where we will gather before the Throne!

  • @dennisnorville interpret the Bible that says that Hebrews were allowed to enslave others in another country. You don't even know the history of how hard translating the bible was to our language. You talk of misinterpreting the Bible for ones favor. You mean you are the one who DOESN'T misinterpret the Word of GOD? Never? You fully understand all the knowledge written in human words by the Father who knows infinitely more than we can understand? Are you claiming you are at the lvl God? Bye!

  • The song describes how much Jesus wants us to come to him, and does so in a beautiful way. I am glad that we have it.

  • Marsha wrote that song when she was 16 years old.

    It's a damn good song !

  • Comment removed

  • @dennisnorville maybe we should lead by example rather words, don't you think? Pushing our "truth" will only push nonbelievers away. We are not the authority on what is right and wrong. We only know what was written by humans inspired by God. They are not perfect. To say that scripture is perfect is to say that a human being is superior enough to understand all the God is telling Him to write. We are not even close to that level. So let us not push what we believe is "true".

  • Comment removed

  • @dennisnorville you know i just sent you an opinion, i wasn't pushing. But your hatred by calling gays the same as rapists is ridiculous. To love is the same as murder or rape? I don't know about you but i'd rather sit w/ the homo who supposedly is a sinner and wont kill me, than a rapist who will violate me. You are prejudice which is the worse sin of them all. If gays were like murders why are they not arrested for being gay? Because they do no harm. Get it right! U give Christians a bad name.

  • @dennisnorville Believing what is true is diff from saying a person who loves another is a murderer or a rapist. There is nothing true about saying gays are pedophiles and murderers and rapists. Using words like bozo to the other person who was being polite was rude. You have thrown enough stones today. You are a Pharisee, putting judgement due to an agenda. they called Jesus awful things and knew nothing but deceit.

  • I'm certain nobody can be or rightly claim to be God's spokesperson. In the circumstances, it is only Him who is His child and who isn't. His Word is plain or who are His manifested children, the ones who are so glad their sins are forgiven they won't walk in the dark, for they have rejected the hidden works of darkness.

  • There is cleansing, forgiveness and freedom from every sin and bondage through the Shed Blood of Jesus Christ for those who will place their faith in Christ and His Work at Calvary. But if one does not repent and place their faith in that Sacrifice, then there can be no forgiveness or cleansing.

  • Marsha Stevens has a gift from God and is a child of God. She is loved as one of his children, not as cast a way. God loves her.

  • ty jesus i love you jesus i am so glad that no matter what that you are by my side and if we thirst you will fill us up and we shall thirst no more

  • Just like a baby can not be weaned and immediately stop breast milk. There are things that we cant stop just like that.I dont condone sin.But who am I to judge it? Aint I just a creation of God like that person am trying to judge?

The master carpenter is@work in all of us.He has not finished his work in us. And until that time, he will keep us here on earth until we are ready and complete;then he will call us home. DONT STAND IN JUDGEMENT.GOD'S still@work in all of us SINNERS!Praise him instead

  • i dont agree with homosexuality, but that doesnt matter, But what God thinks does matter, and i know that he does not agree with it. it saddens me when those who are preaching the gospel dont completely follow it in their own lives. i will be praying for her. God is awesome, Problems on this earth may be big, but God is bigger!!

  • @frescosuave no one knows God. I will never claim to know God for He is too great. I will never say I know "He does not agree" unless He actually said it. It saddens me that people say "saddened by those preaching the gospel..dont completely follow". We forgot Jesus story of casting the first stone. Only thing I will speak out about regarding what God DOESN'T want is if it is intentional harm. That person being "homo" is not intentionally harming anyone. Learn from Jesus who loved the outcast

  • @frescosuave I myself would never presume to know the will of God, particularly if I harbored a prejudice against my neighbor. I think a lot of narrow minded and bigoted people will be surprised when God instructs them to ask forgiveness of the one they have wronged when they go from this life to the next. It is hypocritical judgemental people that drove me away from most forms of organized religion.

  • @frescosuave - actually what saddens me are those that claim to follow Christ- but forget what he taught, and he he taught it to! Jesus spoke to those cast out by their society, looked down on by their religious leaders and considered unclean and undesirable. And he loved them and saw what was on the inside, not what the rest of the world saw. That is who I follow. The Son of God. who came not to condemn, but to save. Before pulling the mote out of your brothers eye, pull the beam out of yours

  • @frescosuave I don't agree with eating shellfish or shaving either, but everyone in the church does it. if you are gonna follow one divisive doctrine, you need to follow them all :) Hugs.

  • @frescosuave I'M SORRY BROTHER... I DONT WITH OYU... WE DON'T HAVE A "BIGGER" GOD! WE HAVE AN AWESOME GOD! AMEN?

  • Just too beautiful. My prayer goes to all those who are going through a wilderness experience.

  • Thank God for Marsha Stevens-Pino! Still a vessel of God's love to this day!

  • Mhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Judge not lest ye be judged! Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.

This is a beautiful song, written by a lady who may be a sinner. But, so am I. I don't know anyone who is not.

  • Well said. Amen!

  • THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  • really love that song. its so true.

thank you for posting! god bless you

  • we used to sing this song as a folk song back in California during the Jesus People movement back in the 70's, it is beautiful, Be Blessed...

  • Jesus alone can give us peace

  • I heard this at church this morning, its so beautiful and true

  • This is a beautiful song and so true every word!

  • just listen to the words of the song and not worry about WHO sings it The words are Beautiful

  • I was a christian when I was a teenager, we used to sing this song - I havn't heard it since then, now when i hear it agin I feel the need after Jesus.....

  • Hey you can always come back. Jesus is always there. And believe me, I've gone abotu as far away as you could go.

  • i don't think Bill was endorsing the lifestyle Of Marsha nor was he validating her. He was lifting up the Name of Jesus. I'm totally against the lifestyle this lady lives but it doesn't mean I can't enjoy the song.

  • fluffyice, you should not hate, that is a very strong word, and not criptural, I too do not like her lifestyle as we know the Lord does not like it but we cannot be anyones judge, the words of this song are so true and a reminder to us what the Lord did for us on the cross, so don;t hate just disagree He first loved us bless you xx

  • you should not hate anyone. i don't believe that christians can hate people, becuase God dosen't. I don't agree with her lifestyle, but as a person we should not hate her.

  • @gatogrande06 You are so right! The Lord tells us to love the sinner but hate the sin, I don't agree with that lifestyle and she has to answer to God for that but, we are to love everyone with an Agape love.

  • Bill's dad had since passed since this video was made. It has been at least a year, maybe two. Anyone have a clue how long?

  • What a wonderful video and piece of music. Maybe we should actually listen to the words??

John 3:16, is that not the entire premise upon which our Christian values and morals should be based? I see no qualifications whatsoever made in that verse, or ... am I missing something? But then maybe we are much more qualified to make those sort of judgements than John, who actually "heard" the words and teachings of Jesus with his own ears ... ???

But then I also thought we were "not" to judge??

  • On what video was this beuatiful song featured? I love it..and i agree with Ekua with all my heart...

    Auke

    (Freedom Song Qt)

  • You Know what grips me!!!! Is these so called Christians on here who think that the KJ version of the bible is the word!!! Look it up you will be suprised what you learn!!! And One Pastor put it best!!! His words where this " I choose to remain slient on the things that Jesus remained slient on!!! If we all took that stance this world will be a better place!!! So all you gay haters Shame shame shame Judge ye not lest ye be judge!!!! Your the ones who souls need prayers!!! Rember that

  • Hmmm come to think of it what exactly is your point? You seem to be judgemental yourself

  • @dragjennylarue The apostle Paul wrote: "liars, sodomites, thieves and so on will NOT inherit the Kingdom." In my past, I have lied, stolen, but not sodomized any one. Christians are far from perfect, but we are forgiven. we are not to judge, but we are to discern what is biblical and unbiblical. I'd like to know what bible you are reading. KJV is, scholarly, the closest to the actual interpretation than and other text..I'd love to see more proof other than just your assertion.

  • Those who are so busy judging the songwriter that they cannot be blessed by the words about Christ are disturbing to me. I find it sad that people are more concerned about the songrwiter than about the subject of the song.

  • this is sooooo true, God bless!

  • Ye without sin...cast the first stone...

    What a beautiful,beautiful song...For those tears I died..breathtaking.

Anyone who wrote a song like that is a friend of mine!

    Ekua

  • Amen 2 that

  • I understand your point! But I don't believe that Bill support her gay lifestyle, he's just letting her sing a song that she wrote with her heart, sharing that faith with her, notihing more than that, in my own point of view he's showing her an open door, and that's what we must be fo everyone in need, nothing else but an open door, the Spirit will take care of her needs of change, not us!

  • When did this occur?

  • praise to our lord jesus..wonderfull savior, redeemer..thanks..

  • I would guess this video was made in 2002.

  • This is beautiful!! What Video is this?

  • I heard Marsha talk about this night at one of her concerts. Bill Gaither talking to her really validated her current ministry. For those who do not believe that one can be gay and Christian, go to one of Marsha's concerts. When she sings this song the spirit is present. She was a pioneer of the "Jesus Movement" in the 70s. Now she is a pioneer in the gay-Christian community. I love you Marsha

  • It is true that God loves sinners; but He does not love sin. The Bible is very clear about this. When one is saved, there is a CHANGE. Your life is changed and is not lived contrary to the very Word of God, which is the Bible. I suggest reading it sometime. It is very clear that adulterers and those who "leave the natural affections" have no place in heaven if they remain in those sins.

  • Remember, there's the realization of sin, repenting of sin, and accepting Jesus as Savior. Repenting means "turning away from; to turn around; to change." The problem today is people are changing the very Word of God or omitting portions of it in their teachings, and sugar coating even sins. All truth (the full Bible, cover to cover, no edits, no removals, no re-wordings to fit circumstances or a given point) is truth.

  • Everyone "picks and chooses". None of us is aware of all of our sins. We all twist the bible in one way or another. We use God's word to discriminate. The 2nd chapter of Romans is right. We who accuse are guilty of the same. If anyone disagrees with that statement... they are calling God a liar. We think God's standard is for everyone to be "as good as we are". But we are wearing filthy rags. If I clothe myself with the righteousness of Christ, pretense and self righteousness fall away.

  • Thank you for those words! So truth!!

  • @harrywarrenfan WOW! My hat's OFF TO YOU! You're one of the few bible believers on here!

  • Some truth or partial truth or partially changed truth is a lie. So, anyone who teaches or believes that this sort of behavior is OK, is violating not just the adultery commandment, but also the lying one, too. Be very careful.

  • Amen!!!! Harry

  • The singer is Kim Hopper. That is her husband Dean Hopper next to her. They are in the fantastic gospel group 'The Hoppers'

  • The author of this song, & the person singing this song... as introduced by Bill Gaither [0:24],...is Marsha Stevens. If you care to know more about Marsha Stevens, & this video specifically, Google [Marsha Stevens for those tears I died] & learn more than you probably cared to know. Of the debate: I have no question that this is an ANOINTED song, regardless of the person who transcribed these lyrics/music. A flawed, imperfect person who had a genuine experience w/Christ... w/unresolved pain.
