I will always love you Nancy and will be a better man, willing to give love because of this song. God Bless you so much darling. You made me feel part of life; I knew I wasn't alone and never was or would be.
This was the first song (and video) I've ever heard from Nanci Griffith. From this moment I knew Nanci as one of the best and prolific songwriters in Folk music.
Thank you for postin this channel and regards from Ecuador, SouthAmerica.
Thank you for posting this, its great to see it once again. I hadn't heard of Nanci Griffith until I happened upon this video many years ago and it made me a fan. This song is so touching and emotional and it reflects, sadly, on the changes that have made love so much more hard to find. Nanci gives a great performance and her voice works perfectly with the song.
In one of her songs relating to her mum, Nancy states she is plain, but to me along with my wife Eileen and Olivia-Newton-John she is the most beautiful woman who ever lived. Her music is awesome.
Simply amazing. I am so grateful to have seen her at Stan Rogers Festival a couple of years ago. A beautiful woman, an outstanding song writer, very interpretive of cover tunes and a pure voice. What more can you ask for?
@zebifives I agree, and im 65. On a similiar theme, of I knew love, check out Janis Ian " I knew love at 30, I knew love at 9, but the love we just made, is the sweetest love of all"
Let me be the first to comment. Too pretty for words....a man in my late 30's with tears in my eyes. What a talent...that voice...Americas finest...to the world.
Why do we have to watch a Fn commercial first?

This sad, beautiful, poignant song kept me alive some twenty five years ago when I could cry, weep like a babe--each time I put it on.
I hadn't cried in years and Nancy provided what I really needed. God Bless her always. It may have saved my life; a song life raft.
