when i was on holiday in Germany i went to see Dachau, just outside of Munich. it was a very moving experience to see for ones own eyes the sheer size of the camp, and the industrial efficiency and scale everything woulld have taken place on that very ground nearly 70 years ago. even thinking about it makes me sad.
i just cant watch Schindlers list again. its to sobering and raw. i would say this is because i have Jewish blood but its not that. the second world war was a national tragedy. it goes beyond the Jews or gypsy's or any one nation. may the blood and tragedys of all of our ancestors keep this from happening again.

Humanity is a tear drop in the eye of your God, for we are his failures. Then hopefully one day he will gather all to him and forgive us. Each will ask for forgiveness in their own way in quiet moments or near to death, and we can only pray that he listens. 'For he who honours me, I will honour also', surely this can apply to any religion, then humanity will be as one and that tear will never fall.
Try listening to some of Lisa's songs in an empty room, where the sound can echo, and reverberate off the walls, just close your eyes and become part of it. It's like being in another dimension!
That said, one must remember that it's the simple thing's in life which bring the greatest enjoyment:
-listening to music, especially of this sort
-drinking when you're thirsty
-sleeping when tired
-eating when hungry
-laughing....a truly joyful experience, every time
-scratching an itch!
...the list is huge. If you can't enjoy the simple things in life and truly appreciate them simply by doing them, it's over for you. But the way things are, many folk are unable to enjoy even simplicities.

You kill the wolve that hunts your sheep, you crush the mosquito that drinks your blood, you build a fence around your garden, you lock your door. On a governmental scale, it's the same. i really appreciate how you separated Germans and Nazis because people today always interchange the two, which is not right my grandparents were Germans who lived in Germany during WWII and they hated the Nazis (maybe in part because the SS shot my dad's aunt's son who refused to join them)

I am a 1st generation immigrant to the us, 44 yo, and when I was young, I would be called Nazi by my classmates in elementary school...this was in the mid to late 1970's,,, anyhow, it would always disturb me when Americans equivocated the word "nazi" with "the germans." I know this also to be untrue, my maternal side of the family was very poor in germany and hated Hitler and the Nazi's...I grew up feeling guilty of my heritage among other things

That said, one must remember that it's the simple thing's in life which bring the greatest enjoyment:
-listening to music, especially of this sort
-drinking when you're thirsty
-sleeping when tired
-eating when hungry
-laughing....a truly joyful experience, every time
-scratching an itch!
...the list is huge. If you can't enjoy the simple things in life and truly appreciate them simply by doing them, it's over for you. But the way things are, many folk are unable to enjoy even simplicities.

You kill the wolve that hunts your sheep, you crush the mosquito that drinks your blood, you build a fence around your garden, you lock your door. On a governmental scale, it's the same. You cooperate with your neighbor and fight those against you, using the best measures of course. You build an army. We're all the same and in the face of adversity, it's a cruel world for most of us.

Many many North American people actively fought against the Nazi Regime and fascism. Many lost their lives. They were of all stripes. i really appreciate how you separated Germans and Nazis because people today always interchange the two, which is not right my grandparents were Germans who lived in Germany during WWII and they hated the Nazis (maybe in part because the SS shot my dad's aunt's son who refused to join them)

I am a 1st generation immigrant to the us, 44 yo, and when I was young, I would be called Nazi by my classmates in elementary school...this was in the mid to late 1970's,,, anyhow, it would always disturb me when Americans equivocated the word "nazi" with "the germans." I know this also to be untrue, my maternal side of the family was very poor in germany and hated Hitler and the Nazi's...I grew up feeling guilty of my heritage among other things

Irena Sendlerowa- Polish woman, activist of the Polish resistance movement, officially social worker rescued 2500 Jewish children from Ghetto. Arrested in 1943 by the Gestapo, former tortured and sentenced to death. She died in 2008-remember about this wonderful Polish woman.

I'm Polish and i think that on the end it should be written only "remember about this wonderfull woman"becouse it's not important witch nationality She was...just how beautyfull human being..
