  • in Ireland there was 6-10 people in the country who got 600 points there was only 1 or 2 who got 600 points who where not from a private school.

  • I went to public school for six years then i moved to a private school and i really like it the teachers actually teach us stuff and the kids are a lot nicer.

  • you have some great stuff here

  • love the video really good

  • love the video really good

  • Not all private schools teach quality education and versa. So it really doesn't matter where you will instill your children to education. It still depends on the student's intelligence and ability to adopt each lesson and homework that they have each curriculum and level. And not all teachers in public schools are theoretical and versa...

  • The immature will say public school

The mature will say private school

People who bad private school seem a bit jealous.. Most kids that attend them are NOT rich at all.. I've gone to private all my life

  • If we really want to turn around the public schools, we need to get rid of the union. The only thing they do is prevent the firings of bad teachers and prevent raising salaries of the good ones.

  • I'm sorry about those people who have their heads stuck too far up their arses to see that the state will never have enough money to inject enough funds into the UK education system to make schools in the Uk great again. Not sure what it's like in the US but then again I'm not expecting much there either.

  • I go to an English private school, and I do think that (after being in a public school for a good 5 years) there are more qualified teachers, and as the person below me said, a lot more care and attention goes into your education. But you do have to go to school on Saturday. Which sucks.

  • Private schools, have smaller classes which means more 1 on 1 teaching. The private school in my town has a %98 graduation rate.Public schools, there are more fights.Where i live there are in public schools. The private school children wear nice looking uniforms while i cannot say this about the public schools, some of hese kids look like crap no offense. They need uniforms i believe private school or not.

  • I love how they have to make excuses for why they send there kids to private schools, I would applaud the politician who said:

"i sent my kids to private school because i have the means to and the education is of better quality".

anyone one of them that denies that is a liar and a fraud, to bad they all are anyways.

  • @mrJustin2678

    You need to be killed.

  • @mrJustin2678 I agree.I think this was a very stupid question.Obviously private schools would be able to provide teh best education because it is better funded, more exclusive and therefor able to provide a more quality environment. If they really didnt send their kids to a private school then they care more about publicity then their children.I have been in both private and public schools(currently public) and I have to say id give anything to go back the difference is phenomenal.

  • @mrJustin2678 ya i go to public school but im am gonna go to a private school and its rlly inapropiate what some ppl wear like i dont wanna see that!!

  • i think you should go where ever the better teachers are. I remember my days in catholic school as a kidergardner as very sad because the teachers were clearly not meant to teach those grades. I myself was not good at writing and my teacher would call me a scribler. until i didn't have her i didn't want to try to do hand writing because i was afraid of being made fun of. when i got to first grade(in public school) I was helped with privately away from everyone. a good teacher is important.

  • @mrJustin2678 Im from louisiana and public schools and private schools both have the same uniform but every school has diffrent colors and private schools have emblems. the education is better at the private schools and the uniforms do NOTHING at all in the public schools the kids still sag and stuff like that.

  • Mike Gravel had the only good answer.

  • I don't really care who goes to what schools

A pot of kids don't get to pick what school they go to.

  • Everyone has a good excuse, the no one up there sent their kids to an inner city public school...heck, the public schools in the research triangle in NC are better than some colleges at what they do...but unfortunately, most Americans don't have access to the top 5% of public schools in the country....what about the rest of us???

    Liberals are all hypocrites.

  • being against school vouchers is anti Catholicism. i am sick of seeing the catholic church subsidize the filthy rich yet remarkably under performing public school system $20 billion a year

by the way if there are any grammatical errors in this post its because of by public school education

  • Haha, Odumbo cannot relate to the average American, his kids have been in elite, private schools since the beginning, so was he. He went to 3-4 different PRIVATE schools, and went to Ivy League colleges. His father was also rich; don't buy that crap about being raise by a single mother, his daddy was rich.

  • my kids have gone to both and theirs equal drawbacks,,,one,,u go to a puplic school in your area that may or may not be ;;sound doctrine,,you know,,,fights, cussing, swareing, deaththreats, guns and drugs brought to school..and then privatee school may have slightly better education thats expensive, but the administrative staff at times have an inferiority complex if you address any concerns your child may be experiencing as if you and the childissue,,not them, not the school,im stuck i the middle

  • There is many other kinds of schools out there I love charter school. Private school is spendy and strict, public is slacking and a waste of time. Who you trying to fool no one learns at public school.

  • Why are they all talking about private school like it's a bad thing, the make these excuses like," oh the only reason my kid goes to private school is because....." can't they just admit it private schools are usually better than public school there is no reason to be ashamed to say that your kids go to private school, they just want the best education and oppurtinities for their children to succeed in life there is nothing wrong with that.

  • ........accounta wha?

  • Public or private, parental involvement is imperative! They're most likely to have student's best interest in mind.Special interest groups ought not run student's future. Carefully check source of info in curriculum. Many textbooks, especially history; are written by Harvard or Stanford professors. They may appear to be a great source, but they only have their own political interests in mind. Universities are now tightly woven with corporations.Corps.interest is $, not student/human well-being.

  • @Vastvisionist, Educational success is by in large generational. For example, my mum loved me, but she was uneducated. How can parents like my mum, raise kids that can compete with say a doctors or lawyers child? You are so right parents play a key role, put unfortunately some parents are not equipment to help their children. I feel the cruelest thing that can happen to an intelligent individual is them not to have the opportunities to realize their potential, this however happens to 1000's.

  • Dumbocrats like Obama send THEIR kids to private school...while bragging about how great public schools are and taking money from teachers unions.

  • The candidates make excuses for putting their kids in private schools like it was a bad thing.

    IT ISN'T.

  • Good choice for class assignment.

  • I was just given I.S.S Because I wore a Carling Football jersey. They informed me That it was the name of a brand of beer and asked me to cover it up. Knowing the History of Hollister California as a Hells Angels destination and Bob marley as a Marijuana smoking promoting Musician, I respectfully refused. While In I.S.S. I was visited by the principals, them claiming that the shirt rules are to not pull the attention of the students away from education. I asked to call my mom and was refused.OSS

  • Both private & public schools have the same interest. Corporations & government are the same entity; it's a revolving door.Neither teaches critical thinking to the point of being self-reliant. Living off the grid, no dependence on corrupt utility companies, corrupt govt., etc. Our air, food, & water are slowly being taken away. The global corporate govt. divide & conquer scheme is alive & well with the business of education.Try co-op or home school, & protect your children from being militarized

  • @Vastvisionist They have the same interests as far as money goes. However, the way they go about it is completely different. Public schools are funded by the government(us) and so they political sway toward the socialist side of the political spectrum because the left promises them more money. We pay for it through taxes(have no choice).Private schools would have competition between private owners to get more money but in this way it's earned. Survival of the fittest(best education for the money)

  • when i was a kid, public school was fine; classes were decent sizes, and there weren't countless numbers of students who couldn't speak english. These days, public schools are full of gangs, teen moms, illegal immigrant children etc. in some states, they have furlogh firdays for public schools- so kids go to school 4 days a week! If you want your kids to get an education, send them to private school!!!

  • @LolaOrozco Not just that but the Education in the system is Selfishly swayed to the party that pays more money for em. Teachers are payed by the state taxes(people pooling money) so naturally(greedily) that goes towards higher taxes and public education. They also have a teachers union which doesn't make sense because teachers are part of the professional segment and Unions were made for the working class(expendable people-unsophisticated labor). They can demand any wage they want from us. USA

  • @LolaOrozco

Totally agree, the work is engaging and challenging as well. They also offer a stimulating learning environment.

  • I go to Private School and im not gunna lie it sucks. Classes are smaller and alot of the kids are stuck up fags. But then again I really dont care cause public or private school sucks so wutever.

  • the biggest dick heads i have ever meet go to private schools

  • @TheFK93

Your just jealous, because your not smart enough to go to one. I go a private school and we all get laptops, the teaching staff all at the least masters degrees in their specific filed, and are excellent providing guidance, and have pride for what they do. We also have a strong college preparation program, and the kids actually generally want to learn, unlike in public ghetto schools, where there is no discipline.

  • first off; shot obama, perfect answer.

This might not apply in America, I go to a private school in Sydney, Australia. While obviously the superior tuition would be the first motive for many parents, something I've come to realize is that a private school offers you spiritual and emotional guidance to help you become a better man, you are nurtured and encouraged; a public school offers you an education. And that's it really (in my experience).

  • 2:58 everyone: "accountability?"

  • this question is stupid obviously public education, but instead of sending your kid to w/e public school is in your district or w/e the term that splits people into school zones the money that the taxpayers spend on each child, should be attached to that kid, go to the school you want, if a school and teachers suck, send your kid to a different school, bad schools fail, competition breads success and only good school and teachers survive, simple.

  • @GGAlice1 Then why the fuck not private schools?

  • @32937isready: stupid, racist bitch!! why would you shelter your kids from blacks? What is the point of that? What do you think will happen when they get out into the real world? And what, do you send your brats to a segregated school? I thought those didn't exist anymore!

  • i go to a public school in carmel indiana and the ratings are a lot better then lots of private schools. even if it wasnt you can go to a public school and learn more than lots of people that go to private schools.

  • Private schools are better. Just admit it.

  • @TheGuyNamedCris They are not at all better. I went to private school for 2 years and I learned nothing. I switched to a Seattle Public alternative Nova and it was the best choice I have ever made. Following my dream instead of doing what my parents want. I can follow my passion at public school better. Plus $15,000 a year is really stupid for education. And public schools are FREE!!!!!!!

  • @FASSY524 Sorry I didn't mean that, some private schools are better. You see with my education I grew up in a private school, so I was used to their methods or their enviroment. And when I moved to Bellevue, Wa I went to a Bell Public School district school for a year and a half and hated it. It might of been just the school but I just hated it because the classes where huge and I felt like I was learning nothing. Now i go to private and I like it.

  • @FASSY524

The kids who like public schools, are the ones who fight for silly reasons like like you took the last mik, do drugs, are teen mothers, have parents who have problems with drugs and alcohol, and have parents who are blue colar low who live in areas with low socioeccomonic value. Would you really want to send your kids to place like that? Where you can go to a private school and get better education, more stimulating environment, and kids and teachers who like their job, and learning

  • @hacktgs2 I don't go to a regular public school. I go to an amazing Alternative school. Called The Nova Project of Seattle. It's so fun, we get really great homework. The teachers go by first names, no grades, the students run the school how they want. I love it and I also don't want to waste good money on school. I already did that twice. I went to Puget Sound Community School in Seattle and it was the worst private school I have ever been too. 30 000 dollars wasted on private school.

  • @FASSY524

Well that`s good for you, what do you mean by alternative school? There`s nothing wrong with uniforms, i see why there needed, they are there to give a school belonging, and also students to take a more serious approach to school. Parents who go to public schools, generally poorly discipline their children, and uniform normally allows that in some form. The $15000 my parents pay is defiantly worth it, the work is extremely stimulating and interesting, the kids are great as well.

  • @hacktgs2 Well my high school isn't anything of what you describe about public schools. Everyone has a different school to there liking. You can't make someone like me pay money I can use to give to local businesses and charity etc. My school has the highest SAT scores in the whole Puget Sound area. The teachers actually treat us like human beings. We get to choose how we learn. We have a system that if a student doesn't make an effort to go to classes then they face there own issues following!!

  • @FASSY524

Well i am glad your happy, but why would you want to give money for free to local businesses? Donating to charity is very commendable, and a practice me and my family endorse regularly. If students in my school don`t go to class, they will find themselves on the way to getting kicked out for not meeting the standards. I am sure there are decent public schools, but it`s becoming a increasing rarity. If your happy with where you are, then good on you.

  • @hacktgs2 I went to private school for 2 years. They treated me like shit, they didn't even have spanish until the second year I was there. My school now is the most Eco-friendly school in Seattle. And to your question "but why would you want to give money for free to local businesses?" Because small local businesses are getting destroyed by Walmart and other huge corporate companies. Local is better for the planet. My school actually accepts, gay/lesbian, transgender and black! No hate.

  • @FASSY524

Our school is very racially diverse as well, we have blacks, Latinos, whites, every raice is accepted. You probably got treated like shit, because you did not do your homework, or disrupted class. We don`t like that kind of stuff, and we go to school to learn first and foremost, anything else is a bonus. That`s how it should be, and that`s how i treat it.

  • @hacktgs2 I did do my fucking homework and why the fuck would I disrupt a class. That would be like the most fucked up move if I did that. And you say every race is accepted but you didn't say that your school accepts transgender or gay/lesbians. Your just being bias right now. Just because your scared to go to public school doesn't mean you have to make others scared too. Being scared makes everything worse. I wouldn't ever go to private school even if you paid me the fucking money!

  • @hacktgs2 And your not better than anyone else. You try to be but it's not a good thing to try to be better. And why are you saying we about everything? You can't speak for anyone else at your school! There has to be one person who hates the school because that is normal. Not everyone is going to like every school. Your just one of those rich white ass boys where you have your parent's buy your education. If i were to go to private again I would want to try and pay with MY OWN FUCKIN MONEY!

  • @hacktgs2 And sorry I'm being harsh but you pushed a few buttons that you shouldn't have pushed. So I'm sorry. I just hate when people hate on things. Like I'm sure there are great private schools. But the one I went to "Puget Sound Community School" didn't give me what I needed. I found Nova because it was the best Seattle school for slower learners like me. I am an IEP student because I learn at a different pace! You probably wouldn't understand that though.

  • @hacktgs2 I actually love my school. I can't wait until monday. Nova is the best school for me. I also don't want to wear those stupid gay uniforms. Why would I want to wear those ugly beige pants and look like everyone else? I want to be different. Private school is like prison.

  • @FASSY524

Well i am glad you are being civil, and not using original and boring insults, to attempt to insult me. I do not agree with the notion that private school is like prison. A prison is an enforced confinement, and in no way do are you forced to attend a private school, that`s the first thing we told. Public schools by law, are legally obliged to accept the lowest common denominators of society. And also most public schools only have 10% who go to college, mines has 95%^

  • @hacktgs2 If you like private school go ahead. But you shouldn't judge every public school like that. Because not all of them are the same. There are some really fantastic public schools. Like Garfield High School, Ingraham High School, Nova High School, The Center School, Nathan Hale High School. Seattle has great public schools. People have to find out what they like for themselves. I will save money that would go to private school and use it for college. Evergreen College of course!

  • @FASSY524

I hate to put you down, but college degrees outside the areas of Science and medicine are useless unless you go to a top college. Private schools allow students more of a chance for aspiring students to attend top colleges, where degrees are actually valued. If you manage to do as well in a public school, as a private school, you have more of a chance of attending a top university, though the odds are generally against you in public schools.

  • @TheXavierLee I am no longer this foolish profile name. That was long long time ago in a galaxy far away. I am now Drbakshandeh champion of the youth and philosopher king of Yerushaliyim this profile name has served it's purpose and such a stupid profile name with a bunch of random letters and numbers is not for me anymore!

  • Private schools are where liberals who take money from teachers unions and public schools send THEIR kids, such as Clinton and Obama.

  • Frankly there is a practical and hidden side to Public/Private school debate.

On practical side, an education that prepares a child for college would probably require them to go to a suburban public school or private.

The hidden side is that all schooling-public and private-serves to indoctrinate pupils to obey the state ( or a religion).

So, in that sense, the debate is irrelevent.

  • accountability instead of throw money at the problem... from a democrat??? wow

  • 32937osready is pretty raceist

  • My three young girls ages 2,3 and 5 have never seen a black person in person. Private Schools ROCK!!!

  • how is that a good thing? what are they gonna do when they get out in the 'real' world? why shelter them from life? what's wrong with them seeing a black person? I want my kids to be friends with all people.

  • Public Schools are much better. If USA had all Private Schools it would end up like India , a country where people cant even afford to go to school, where teachers pressure families to pay tutors or else they get retained.

    public school is sooo underrated.

  • Interesting - the US is very different from the UK. In the US, there are some excellent public schools, in the UK there are very few. The UK private schools are historical institutions and are probably the best in the world. To go to one is a priviedge, the ones who go are given more responsibility and self belief, and have a good grounding for their future. Ask yourself this - if you had a kid who is not that capable, would you try and give them the best chance by sending them private - I would

  • Don't be fooled by these airheads. In america, it all depends on where you live. If you live in a suburban area, or a middle class area, than those schools with a high suburban population are excellent. If you are in an urban area or the inner city, not so much. The schools there are awful and are the reason America is failing,

P.S. I went to an urban school-I should know....

  • location is key. i've been to two different rural high schools, the first i was struggling very much and couldn't find help from teachers, the 2nd i had close to a 4.0, and the teachers and staff were very help full. also the first had drug problems. i think it is important to research the school's before sending a kid there. if i didn't move to another district i may have been held back or dropped out.

  • @eddied111 That all depends. Public school in the US are very accommodating to those who have learning disadvantages. If a student is struggling in any particular course, they are evaluated and put into a class where they can learn more.

Students with learning handicaps are also accommodated as well with aides and small certified special education teachers.

  • Piivate school is 100% better.

  • @32937isready I can see in the way you spelt private as "piivate". I'll go with public school's.

  • I go to a public school in Germany but I think Private Schools are so much better.. (but they are SO expensive and only for kids with rich parens ;)) The teachers pay more attention on private schools and i think the behaviour of private students is much better.. okay, that's my opinion and the situation in germany.. there are differences but all in all private schools are better...

  • @Capricta rich fucks its 23k a year

  • @notphatmageWins

Not surprised you think that, your parents probably spend that much on drugs in a year.

  • What people don't understand is that not all public schools have "assault, violence, gangs, and teachers who don't care"! There are public schools out there who are just as good as private schools, if not better.

  • @hAvan4LyFe public schools that are decent are a dying breed for sure. The public school system is no match for the rate at which illegals breed and flood into america, destroying the school system. It's not racist, it's just a fact. it's sad, but it's true that if you want your kids to get a non ghetto education, you have to send them where the ghetto people can't afford to go...simple facts. Illegals can't afford to send their anchor babies to private school.

  • Ok one of my friend is going to a private school and told me that students were wearing different colors of ties depending on their grades! I was dying of laughing when I heard that!! It means students are divided in different groups to make a couple of them feel superior and egoist, destroying every notion of equality and fraternity. The school initiates its students to social classes!! Honestly, I'm in the IB program in a public school and I hardly see how the curriculum could be better.

  • I went to an all-boys private school. *shudder* :-S

  • Private schools are fucking expensive here so you will only be around snobby spoiled rich kids. But I think schools should be much smaller with much smaller classes (8 to 10 people max). Only that is very difficult because there aren't much teachers.

  • i went to private school for 12 years and i loved it! there were 56 people in my grade and i knew every single person in my high school (about 200).

there were about five private schools in the area where i lived and so all the kids from one school knew all the kids in the other schools.

i liked private school because it was a tight-knit community and it was very intimate. plus our dress code was very lax so it wasn't an uptight environment.

  • i think public schools better well in ireland it is anyway

  • I go to private but im switching to public after 6 years of private :)

  • FUCK TEACHERS ANd FUCK SCHOOLS THEY DONT FUCKING TEATCH SHIT AND FUCK OBAMA AND FUCK ZYOU U FUCKING CUNTS!! I FUCKING HATE TEATCHERS FUCKING THIEVES AND THEY DONT FUCKING

  • It all depends on the district you live in for public school. If you live in a district where you have heard children getting raped and doing drugs, don't live there. Personally, I think public schools are better. I live in a very good public school district. There are just some districts that have horrible discipline procedures. Mine doesn't though.

  • fuck you faggot FUCK YOURSEKLF GO TO HELL!!

  • Who the fuck are you talking to?! Obama? Or me? Yeah go fuck your own self. I don't support him but I don't hate him. He's just making stupid decisions.

  • I went to private school for 6 years and then went to a public high school. I was actually behind most students when I started high school. Private schools aren't necessarily better, and only elitists send their kids there.

    Embrace socialism.

  • pravite schools rock

  • FUCK U FAG IM GONA FUCKING HACK U!!!!!

  • what's your problem? and it's a thing because all the hot guys go to private schools.

  • sadly i go to an all girl private school...

  • sorry i go right now to a co-ed private school, but all the guys who were kinda cute went to all boys school

  • While I supported Obama, this is simply a lie, his kids went to University of Chicago Lab School, while he taught and worked at the University of Chicago, two different schools, while close in proximity, he did not work for U-High. I suspect the reason is they have horrible public schools there

  • I think Obama would probably know what he did more than you would.........

  • YOu really think Obama wouldn't want it to appear as if the only reason he sent his kids to private school was because it was soooo much easier than pubic school. You really don't think he didn't want it to appear like he didn't have faith in the public schools.

Once again, I support Obama, I voted for Obama, but this just isn't true.

  • Private school is better. I go to Academy of Mount Saint Ursula in NYC and I just finished my freshman year and it was terrific! My school provides a college level curriculum which prepares us well for college and as a result we get top college placement.

  • shut up u fucking fag i hope u die in a hole!

  • um why would you call someone a fag if you don't even know them?

  • As far i know the most of american universities are private and therefore the best ones

  • I would like my future children to attend private school, even if it puts me in debt.

I'm not about to have some hoodlum rape my daughter in the bathroom of a public school, because the staff isn't watching or doesn't care, because the schooling is free and they don't have to concern themselves over the safety of your child.

I've been reading many rape cases even attempted murder cases in High Schools lately, its happening more often than when I was in school, only four years ago!

  • then send them to a public ib school

  • Hillary did not want to put Chelsea in the public schools in DC because they are so terrible along with the rest of the local government. My parents who are liberal moved out of the district so that I could go to a public school in the suburbs.

  • This is not a debate. It's a series of interviews.

  • @Seaileanu Yea I was thinking that too. The parties control the debates. We know that. Assholes.

  • Is it not the responsiblity of the State to ensure the well-being of the public? Roads, water, sewage, law enforcement are all run and regulated by the State. It only seems natural that the State ensures that every person receives at least the minimum standard of education.

  • no where in the US constitution dose it say you are entitled to an education, it shouldnt be a federal issue, but a state/county/community issue. Reguardless of this, public schools today arent much more than a baby sitting service.

  • Hitler while in prison thought of the idea of free education at the states expense.

  • oh and more networking skills between friends = head start in the job market = more successful future

  • "The truth is that schools don't really teach anything except how to obey orders."

    John Taylor Gatto

    and my qoute

  • private school

    small class sizes

    college counseling

more life experiences travel to other countries to do community service, africa, peru, galapagos

    more participation in debates

better attention to concentrate more freedom to pursue your interest to replace class credits

    better well written recommendation letters

more name recognition and credibility when you transfer schools or apply to college

  • the problem with public schools are that they are socialist indoctrination centers. Oh yeah homeschooling is better than public or private school you get more attention.

  • i really thought about homeschooling my children. but then i want them to experience life and meet new people. i'm still unsure. they are both under 2, so i have some time to think. lol

  • I am a senior at a public high school and i don't see anything wrong with it. Private schools aren't any better. Some private school students think that they are better than public school students. I've done a research project for school on this issue, and my high school's graduation rate was higher than some private schools!

  • Some. And Private Schools parents pay for both their kids and the public kids education...and what do public school parents just pay quarter of the education? Does that seem fair?

  • well not really but arent the public schools parents paying for some private school students education 2?

  • um no the government only pays for public schools and they need money from the private schools and public schools only pay 5 % of the public schools because they cant afford private education.

  • o well sice i go to a public school, i think that i get the proper education that i need to go on to college. i dont need to go to a fancy private school for that.

  • why the fuck are these people so proud that they are sending their children to public schools? Private schools are better and i would any day send my child there over a public school, but that is not the issue, there should not be a gap we should get educated children so that we can abolish the difference between private and public school and give the opportunity that all children can go to a decent school no matter the background.

  • not every student receives the same curriculum. Poor rural and inner city schools do not receive the quality of teachers and administrators and do not have the same course offerings including the amount of honors and AP classes. Some students may work hard in school but still perform poorly on standardized tests and AP exams b/c they're teacher was teaching outside of their field.

  • well down is aus is a big difference in the schooling for public or private and i would assume you are a fool to think it is different up there. Is more to private too than the uni you go to you gain much more outside of this sport and cultural, As for you stating that "people who do don't have money, should be able to go to private school" is retard because it defeats the purpose, they have scholorships if the person is of talent too.

  • What if the government offered a reward for possessing various kinds of knowledge? Right now we spend more than $100K/kid to get the them a high school diploma. Suppose we offered the kids a reward of 20K to 50K (depending on their grade at completion) and the remainder to spend via vouchers. We need a radical rethink of education because our system is not making use of the technologies available.

  • we need to privatize all public schools

  • I agree. I'd like to see something on the web that rewarded students for mastering various educational units. Many subjects could be taught that way for a tiny fraction of what it cost today. I think the KIPP program ("Work Hard. Be Nice" ) has the right idea, longer hours, more interaction between parent and teachers. Kids need more responsibility, not less. KIPP does that too.

  • we need tp private that mouth of yours!!!! U SERIOULSY WANT ALL SKOOLS TO HAV UNIFORMS!!!!!!!!!! U WANT ALL SKOOLS TO B MORE STRICT AND NOT LET US HAV THE FREEDOM HELLO WERE AMERICANS!!!!

  • of course you was to "privatize that mouth". You don't like free speech.

lol. I changed my position recently though. We should have a voucher system, not privatize all public schools.

  • exactly all kids deserve the same education.

  • Most private schools don't make money and need benefactors to donate money for buildings, upgrades and so on.

  • "I had to make a very difficult decision"? Bullshit! I bet you couldn't wait to take your kid out of the public school system that you've fucked up so bad. I'm glad you lost...bitch.

  • I go to a private school but trust me it's not easy to get through. My parents pay a lot of money just to get me through a decent education.

So don't think all private school students are just spoiled brats who act like rich snobs.

  • I agree, my parents sacrificed. The school was worth it, and people shouldn't complain that private are much better on average unless they have been willing to put in the effort to make the extra money to send their children to a private school and have some unknown reason that they can not. This is because if they really cared about the difference in education they would make that effort like some do. The private school people have extra money folked out by parents that is why they are better.

  • mike gravel has a hell of a point. the problem is not public or private schools, the problem is the american education system is in the shitter and the fact that we have children not getting a quality education in one of the wealthiest countries on earth (although not at the moment) is ridiculous

children are taught all these fancy things in school but have no idea how to apply it in real life, thus forgetting it

  • Why do people think private school kids are spoiled and lazy? I get up at 6:00 a.m. and it takes me an hour to get to school. Everyone there gets a heavy work load. I'm usually so tired that I don't bother putting on a smile for anyone. Does that sound spoiled and lazy to you?

  • Whether you cannot take the point or not, I am going to a private school in high school (for my freshman year at least) but I am not very happy that my mom thinks that a private school education is better for you. Because, I took honors and regulars in public school, and it's just as good as private, if not better.

  • What's important is what is good for the student. I don't usually express my opinion on whether or not private schools are better (because people would probably get angry), but you'd have to tell me what you mean by "better."

  • yes

  • Perhaps you can explain that to me.

Use logic, please, rather than foolish stereotypes.

  • Well, that seems like any old school to me. workload is workload. If you dont do the work, then obviously its not hard, and u dont get tired. there is no argument on that. And i just wrote "yes" to instigate an argument. I dont think ur lazy at all. I go to the top university in the country, and pple think i am spoiled, but i had to work for it. SO ur not spoiled, pple who graze through life because of their daddy (cough george bush) are lazy.

  • excuseme elizabeth10, i've never been homeschooled and that's because it sucks

  • I work at a public school and no way would I send my children to public schools.

  • @Elizabeth01010101"I work at a public school and no way would I send my children to public schools."

Depends on the school. I've been to both public and private schools and they were equivalent in the education I recieved... however, the public school I attended is considered the best in the state where I live. I'm not saying you are wrong on principle. I'm just saying never say never

  • Love Hillary! shes the best!

  • Preach it. Private schools SUCK and totally messed me up for a long time.

  • why is every candidate scared of private schools?

  • Lets all vote for Ron Paul 2008!

  • As I struggle with my algebra assignments, I continue to wait for those damn vouchers. When will they come? I could sure us the freedom of choice when it comes to education right now. :(

  • listen to hypocrite Hillary's answer !! Obama is another hypocrite. Sadly, these people want to force other people into the toilet of public schools

  • Everytime I watch Hillary I laugh! She is so full of shit.

  • you are DAMN RITE!

  • Anyone who can afford to send their kids to a private school shouldn't feel ashamed in doing so.

  • Wow! What a well written skit

  • wheres ron paul?!?! i wanna see ron paul..

  • wrong party, he's a "Republican". Yeah right

  • Just 6000 veiw's? You know, i live in Sweden! Even i care about american politics more then most americans =)

  • And I'm from Austria, living in Japan. Strange that we care more about them. ;)

  • Well, atleast i want to KNOW what happens not just in my own country but in other countries aswell ;)

And here is an old swedish saying for you: Knowledge is never heavy to carry!

  • mabye we get it from somewhere else

  • of dollars annually on quickly outdated and many times already inaccurate text books that our kids can barely manage to haul around. No child left behind- bullshit- our whole nation is being left behind and we're standing around like imbeciles bickering in the dust.

  • nap times and recesses away from very young children because we seem to have come to believe that the only way to prove that kids are learning is if they can read as soon as possible- the plan that truly embraces the amazing speed that our technology is evolving and makes every effort to incorporate it into the classroom. It's absolutely ludicrous that with the information available in digital formats that we are spending millions and millions

  • the plan that brings our system out of the dark ages of teachers lecturing in front of a large group of bored students who would much prefer a multi media system of learning- the plan that recognizes that different children learn in different ways and truly accomodates those differences from an early age- a plan that recognizes the value of creative play and doesn't take "creative centers",

  • Our public school system needs our attention and ingenuity. If our students were guaranteed the education that we all agree that we want to see our country provide, this question would be a non-issue. It was, in my opinion, an attempt to establish who among the candidates considers themselves and their children to be above the masses. While I was curious as to their responses, by far the bigger question is what is the plan?

  • Oh shit I made a typo "Marine" my bad

  • well I am a Merine. I think only Combat Verterans should run for President.
