Hi all, just trying to spread the word about a new community site we're putting together based around our planet - earth-forums (dot) com. Take a look if you'd like!
Im studying geology. Victoria in Australia had some fantastic geology . Kept having mountain arcs slam up against us making new mountains then a giant rift valley formed. Then a very recent hot spot. We had polar dinosaurs with big eyes :)
Hey man could you put the audio name in the description? thanks.

Could have done with a timeline in years, my geological eras are a bit fuzzy.

Check out the Molleweide (oval) version. It's got the years marked (MYA = million years ago, KYA = thousand years ago)

As an Earth Sciences student, I find this stuff simply fascinating. I always wonder what it must have been like on Earth back then.

What's with the huge leap between the middle and the late Triassic?
Or is that simply a warping of the image to fit the 'globe'?
It seems like a much larger shift than at other times.

Also.....Is the flim clip at the start the run up to the detonation of one of the Nukes in the pacific ocean?

Which also gets me thinking. I wonder what Antarticas mega fauna looked liked during the Eocene before it was frozen over.
Africa still has most of its mega fauna. Australia had giant wombats, marsupial lions, and giant lizards. Europe had Mamoths etc.
Be interesting to think wha they had
