The producers of Sesame Street usually shoot a season's worth of episodes a few months before the season actually begins. The plot involves her son's first birthday party, so the trip obviously coincided with Cody's birthday in '78...I wish I knew the exact date, though!

Snuffy wasn't actually imaginary, though the adults kept missing his appearance until the mid-80s (when all the adults saw him for the first time; up till then, there'd been only a few odd sightings by one person).
