@Linksaa Went and tried both out the other day and ended up buying the mk1 as i personnaly thought it was a lot more durable/looks better... These are what i think personally though... it was real hard to make my choice as a felt both had great selling points...... i tested out all the patches and came to the conclusion that if you want kind of a lot more glitchy sounds, your best bet is to go for mk1 (lots sound like flying lotus) that kind of thing... Although the xl has a bit
@Linksaa more presets.. (like piano/strings) i thought the rest were pretty lacking. 2 real good factors about the mkxl is that the keys are immensly better and feel much greater to play.... and the layout of all the controlls is a lot more inntuative. . . . . so i guess its about weighing up these pros and cons... honestly, i cant say one is better than the other.... but me personally, i really prefer the mk1.... Thats why it is still in production i guess!!! hope this helped. :)
I really love your tutorials... my problem with the usual tutorials is, that they only show you lame standard stuff. But you're kin of an experimental guy and i liiiike that :)
@Jouster0kenny Those famous yt people are official partners they can upload videos of any length. There are even some public domain full length feature films on YT that aren't split up into 10 min segments.
great tutorials man. 1 QUESTION: is there anyway to increase the polyphony beyond 4 voices. I know the microKORG XL has an 8 voice polyphony but the standard microKORG seems to top out at 4.....any advice?
Really awesome stuff man. I really like how you are using different things to explore sound as a whole thing rather than sticking to preset or conventional ways of music making. This and your other tutorial video really inspired me. I just ordered a microkorg and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival in the mail. Your tutorials really helped, and I will be checking out your website for sure.
@bloomypetal first of all compliment for what u are doing, u are very talented just keep improving and u will go far.
i have a question and a request, the question is if i can connect the microcorg to the audio in of my hi-fi system with a jack cable or i have to buy same specific amplifier? and the request is if u can do a very beginner microcorg tutorial.
Great vid man!! Any input on how to run a keyboard workstation through the Microkorg for it's effects?

The beginning is reminiscent of back to the future. I expected a speaker to explode when you started playing.

can't you just plug th guitar straight into the vocoder entry?
metamaggot 1 year ago
@metamaggot that would be using the guitar as the modulator though.
orioneriksen 1 year ago
@metamaggot - No because those are two different input sizes.

hi can you get a nomal piano sound with this synth because i was planning to get one and was just wanting to know that
thanks great vid bye
gilster60 1 year ago
@gilster60 I've heard that you actually cannot get a piano sound with the MicroKorg. :/
contrastively 1 year ago
@contrastively well, if you want something to play piano sounds, you should get a keyboard. synths are for synth sounds.
ScienceOfS0uls 1 year ago
@contrastively true.. but just use midi and there you have your piano sound
