I was on this train and had a suction video camera mount fixed on the window. Great videos of Dainton, Rattery, Saltash twice and two great vids of the climb (plus stop!) to Treverrin tunnel and leaving Plymouth and going at speed to Hemerdon, without any shaking and the added bonus of being able to hold the mic in one hand out of the wind!
Very good Ryan. Shame you were at the back, you can never hear anything well from there.
I've come to the conclusion from this vid and from Dave lastest Torbay vid, that somethings up with 6024. Either a small steam leak, or something with the axles. Its noticable at the end (9:00) when the locos are shunting. And on Daves vid, you can hear it in the first shot.
The group might need to give it some attention. Its serious though, which is thankful.
Not sure if i told you this already, but they a problem with a leaking air-pipe, luckly it was not the same problem what 34067 had, as they were able to fix it without an fuss.
I loved it! absolutly enjoyed it. Was expensive! but however I wanted to do it as it would mean alot to me. 6024 and 34067 doubleheading...rare indeed! and thats one of many reasons why i went on the Express. You must go on these rail tours! theyr great!
Great video, I wish I could have been there but a combination of livining Brum and the £85 cost thwarted me, if I lived in Bristol I would have been tempted.
Nice one Ryan. On your opening shot, you're standing exactly where i was when i did the vid of 6024 shunting the Torbay Express stock. Shame there was too much wind.
