@wingbliss only downside to what you have said, is the mere fact that 3.0 is not COMPLETE yet. eSATA is indeed already out in mass with alot of different products, but it is also has been out longer. 3.0 is superior to eSATA in the fact that eSATA IS 2.0! 3.0 uses completely different technology in order to enhance its speed and is also more RELIABLE than 2.0/eSATA once it is completely finished. 3.0 provides faster speeds than eSATA could EVER hope to achieve.

eSATAp (eSATA/USB) is more economical & easier.
1) 50% of the notebooks out there have eSATAp
2) SATA is in all machine. Upgrading is just a ZERO driver USD 12 delock bracket. 99.9% compatibility as it makes use of onboard SATA.
3). NCIX, Crunchgear have proven that the more economical eSATAp is as fast if not faster than USB 3.0
4) eSATA is found in many NAS. (Note: you need port multiplier feature)
5) eSATAp is ALSO USB 2.0.
6) eSATAp can hotswap!. Can function as IDE mode.
