Sorry, but it does not work as you specified here on the Samsung BD-P1500. I have followed these instructions to the T. however, whilst the bluray player recognises that a USB drive is plugged in, but it does not load the s/w at all, nor does it show the dialog box to confirm you want to update the firmware. Does the USB need to be formatted in a particular way? Whatever it is, this method does not work
I have also tried the CD method and that also does not work.
Doesnt work samsung... I have the same problem as the guy below. Put the usb in and the screen goes black. I cann't watch new blu rays. I will not be buying samsung again.
I have tried this and all that happens is my player says verifying firmware update then after a minute or so the screen goes black and it doesnt do anything else, i have made sure i have the right file for the model of player i have, any help would be great
I had trouble too with my Samsung BDC5500. I found you have to have nothing plugged into USB ports when you power the player on. WAIT until display reads "No Disk". After it displays "no disk", you can then plug in the usb stick.
I used a MacBook pro for the download and put the .RUF update file onto a usb stick formatted as "Fat32". The guy in the video is also using a Mac.
Is there any option to downgrade the firmware or even to reinstall the firmware? While I was doing the last firmware upgrade to my bd player (c5500) I think my internet connection failed or something. Now I can't access the internet@tv resources.
Any suggestions for a MacBook user? The Firmware file downloads as a ruf file which will not allow me to save it to my flash drive. Samsung Support was useless. I just wasted 1-1/2 hours.
I've dedicated way too much of my FUCKING evening trying to sort this out. I shouldn't have to be FUCKING doing this. Why should I have to be like a FUCKING FBI super hacker in order to watch FUCKING Piranha 3D?!!!!!
"I wonder, are you are aware what a terrible piece of equipment the bd-p1590 (blu-ray player) really is? Mine has been intermittent from the beginning, and now is incapable of playing dvd, blu or Netflix.
Please be assured that I will never buy another piece of anything from Samsung. It is clear from various forums that you prefer a bad reputation to actually fixing the problem. Another sucker born every day."
After I did the update (which worked because it told me it was updating to the latest firmware) i can't get any signal on the TV - the Blu Ray just says "Load" and no signal? Any ideas?
our screen doesn't look like this, the tutorial works right up until i put the usb into the blu ray player then when it says usb connected the message disappears and nothing happens.. help??
@shekenwar Is your blu ray player's LCD saying "NoDisc"? I also failed to update my Blu Ray Player(C5900) by usb until i realised that the player was saying "LOAD" instead. By making it read "NoDisc" instead, the firmware file was detected when the usb was plugged in. Try loading/unloading the disc try to have the "NoDisc" message
hey, i have a question, me and my dad were updating it by the ethernet, and he accidentally shut it off when up dating , what should i do now, it wont play discs or show amenu to upgrade it again, should i meanually upgrade to to fix it, i appreciate the help, thanks !
This was fantastic information! Thank you & Great job.
