  • I got one at the sunlight altar in undead parish, it was only half formed, part of the shell and its claw hand, but it had a super powerful range attack shooting spike things at me. Havent found a fully formed one yet

  • this is so weird. i had an experience with one of these but it wasn't in phantom form, it was just like real. and it was where the wolf ring was and when i got to it, it just jumped off the ledge.

  • According to the official guide book;

"...However, they will only appear in places that other players have died in whilst playing online, and even then only in specific places within each area..."

  • @BigLebowski2000 meaning: vagrants are an online feature

  • @acheron16 Exactly. Dude, I came across some in the archives. Both times were the evil versions, so the crab like ones, and at first I thought who or what the heck is shooting at me those strange laser beams that did quite a lot of damage lol. Very eery little monsters! ;D

  • I rarely see them. Only once actually a crab in Darkroot basin. Gave me some loot. But I think this stuff is rushed in.

  • This "Crab" vagrant is the drift humanity version, formed from lost humanity. Since it is black and not white, it has traveled through many different worlds before the OP killed it.

There is another "Spider" variant that is formed from dropped items, but I haven't seen this one yet. Most players do not drop unwanted items, and the items that create vagrants may be useful (not the hollow soldier armor some people drop.)

From the Orange Charred Ring's description, perhaps rings create vagrants?

  • @DemonsSous Theres only 2 types of vagrants. The good and evil ones. Evil one is the crab and good is a waddeling bomb looking thing.

  • @DemonsSous Sadly so little players drop their unwanted stuff. I drop my stuff all the time. I think I made many players happy with drift items and their loot. lol.

  • im 150+ hour into this game and i never seen one of this things

  • cool vid...ppl what are exactly the differences between red, blue and golden phantoms?

  • @Kyrousowna red phantoms=people using red eye orbs(can be cracked or full from the darkwraiths cov) to invade your world.

blue phantoms= people who are a part of a covenant with a specific item to invade. Forest Hunters:Cat Covenant Ring(people who are human in the darkroot garden, Blade of the Darkmoon:either blue eye orb(people who have sinned) or the Covenant ring(used against those who have killed Gwynevere).

Gold Phantoms=people you summon who are a part of the sun bros covenant

  • @bravesfan1018 Thanks bro :)

  • @Kyrousowna Not a problem. It took me a while to realize the difference between gold phantoms and the normally summoned phantoms.

  • @bravesfan1018 yeah haha...there r a lot of sun bros then o.o

  • I haven't seen one of these in three different playthroughs so WTF. Am I just very unlucky? how long did @Sacharified play to find five vagrants????????

  • @zeekinred i wasnt even finish my first game when i was encountering this creature in demon ruins, its just a matter of luck i supposed,.if u are in the ryt time and the ryt place..

  • TO EVERYONE HAVING DOUBTS:

Vagrants (or "drift items") are formed when a player with a lot of souls and humanities dies and fails to pick them up from the bloodstain (not from dropped items). They then form in other worlds

They form in specific places in each area, are very easy to kill (around 300 somesuch HP) but the black version has a VERY powerful ranged attack

Its unknown if you have to be human/hollow for them to appear (looks like it happens more to human)

Thumbs up so people see this

  • @acheron16 it is also stated that if someone dropps rare ish items and the longer they stay in your world, the more powerful a vagrant monster will appear in someones game. But for the most part the humanities is the major way a vagrant appears as who drops rare items?

  • @BrawlerZant both humanities and souls play a part for it (the more the better). The items are a MYTH, and thats not how it works (at least as of patch 1.03). No matter how many items you drop and lose, they will NOT form a vagrant.

Also if anyone wants to know i've met 4 vagrants (1 white 3 black). I remind that the black version ranged attack is very powerful for 40/50 lvl. Higher lelvels should have no trouble with them

  • @acheron16 Yes I see your post, but I don't see vagrants lol.

  • @acheron16 you said it is unknow if you have to be human or hollow... this video is hollow other videos are human... :D

  • These happen when players drop items in their worlds. Everyone, drop extra crap you have and you'll summon some of these item monsters to other worlds. If we keep passing this on we all should see some sooner or later.

  • I haven't run into one of these yet! Had no idea they existed. Do you know if it matters if you've cleared the area boss yet or not?

  • iz soooo cuuuutee

  • You're lucky it didn't use its ranged attack. That thing is a beast.

  • do you need to be in human form for this to happen?

someone in the forums said only humans can be "invaded" by vangrants

  • @CabooseAzul I'm fairly sure that's the case. I've seen 4 of these and have been in human form every time.

  • @Sacharified Well, maybe it's the youtube video, or maybe I'm retarded... but aren't you hollow in this very video? lol

Black 00 for humanity, unless I'm mistaken, = Hollow

  • @assfault88 Hah oh yeah. Well every other time I've been in human form.

  • @CabooseAzul I killed the same one in anor londo and i wasnt human..
