Chris deBurgh is a hell of a singer songwriter. He has written some amazing music, soft, hard, funny, intelligent, his catalog from the 70s and 80s is world class and he deserves his great success worldwide. Grat voice, great lyricist and great musician.
Bailey, just seems bitter to be banging on so much about him. Why knock talent? I thought more of Bill Bailey actually. He's like a school yard bully with this carry on.

Chris is far too rich and self aware to be bothered what this man say's. I alway's wonder why they show Lady in Red and not Spanish Train or one other song from the 160 he has written. Those with no discernement never think to ask this. I also think deep down Bill actually admires him and even likes him. He would never admit to that because he would lose his reputation.

My girlfriend, being Lithuanian, had had no contact with Mr. de Burgh, and so, without thinking, referred to herself as the Lady In Red (red dress, obviously). Chris De Blur is the most inspid Dreary Dribble I have ever Heard! It's bereft of ANY Punch, Any Kick, Anything remotely Lively & yet he Still thinks It's Great Music! I used to date this girl who was "Bland MAD!" She Loved EVERYTHING Dull! Darren Hayes, Phil Collins, Chris De Burh, The Lot! I'm so glad I'm not with her now!

i do agree with that. paul merton has his head rammed so far up his own arse it's unbelievable. he goes for the obvious,"so bad it's a little funny" sort of..erm.."jokes",and is just generally so plain and boring. he doesn't really have any personality. he's like a machine you'd find sitting in the corner of a pub,and every few seconds it'd malfunction and make an obvious statement about something going on in the room that'd make a few drunk people chuckle.
@Vault101Reject I disagree very strongly. He might not be great on Room 101, but he's brilliant on HIGNFY. I agree that his style of humour can be a bit repetitious-but the way he delivers his jokes makes it brilliant. He has such a quick wit. And what do you mean "he hasn't got a personality"? On HIGNFY, he plays a role to an extent. But have you seen his other shows (like Paul Merton in India)? IRL, he's very sweet and down-to-earth, and definitely hasn't "got his head rammed up his arse".

online bickering is hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable in my opinion, but people who use trendy buzzwords and end comments with things like "peace out" in an effort to sound cool should be rounded up and shot.

@porkulator I've nothing against voicing one's opinion, and I enjoy a good debate. But the crappy-ass verbal slapfights below Youtube videos are definitely NOT good debates. Have you read the argument you just had with MartinsRules? At least 90% of it was pointless! I wasn't interrupting your it, waving my cock at you, or trying to provoke you, just venting my frustration. But anyway, I've said all I'll say on the subject. I won't get drawn into a pointless argument myself :) Peace, out.

what's more worrying to me is some of the behaviour trends recently. it's unfashionable to protest, show anger or negativity, or have an opinion which has anymore depth to it than "lol, awesome". sounds too much like mental castration to me. maybe people should think a bit more about band wagons before jumping aboard.

I watched the whole episode and there were some really funny bits, but the last section I don't find at all funny, it's demeaning to a person who has done nothing to deserve it. in fact I think they should stop sending anyone to room 101 and just stick to things that don't offend anyone in a personal way...phew!

I actually quite like a few of Chris' songs, and I think that anyone who can't take a lighthearted view of what Bill says needs to get a swense of humour.
