  • Fenton !!! Jesus crist...Feeentooon !!!!

  • gonna try that now! (: thanks!

  • I started teaching this today:D /watch?v=-dy6pJRgls0 Thanks for your inspiring video!

  • I use a hoop... when me and my bestie were kids, we trained her dog sit, lie and jump through! It's a hard thing to do!

  • why should you not do repititive jumping witha dog under two? is this okay only during training?...cuz i know how to prevent jumping as a bad behaviour if thats the case...

  • she makes it look so easy

  • then after that i moved to a new area and she doesn't understand how to jump overmy arm suddenly. how do I get her to jump now?

  • okay so for my border collie i set up a temporary jump (she does agility so she understands what jump means) and I put my arm across the bar. she got comforatble with it after a few jumps and rewards. I took the bar away after several successful tries. then i put my arm across where the bar was was she got used to jumping it. then after rehersing this for a bit i moved my arm away from where the stantions were and had her jump but we were in the same 2 foot range. She got that too. (cont.)

  • my dog just walks over it

  • idk how but... my cat does it now XD

  • When Splash Jumped through your legs I thought he was gonna land on your face. That would've hurt! Nice video.

  • @BriansDaBest1 i thought that too lol

  • wonderful :-) why the specific warning about avoiding repetietive jumps with dogs under 2? What exactly are repetetitive jumps? I mean, how many jumps would you consider too many? Our little Leni is enjoying jumping a lot, we set out two chairs about six feet apart and she jumps back an forth on them. I was increasing the number of jumps between rewards - bad idea? She's 1 1/4 yrs old.

  • This is a great video! I wish to do the one where splash jumped through your legs, with my border collie Sanka. The only problem i have it that he keeps jumping onto my chest and face when he goes over. If i use the toy to coax him over he gets super hyper and just bounds over my legs, scratching my face, chest, arms... how do i get him to land away and over my head?

  • thank i have been looking for new tricksmy dog i got her after some other owners had her. we think the abused her and im the only one she trust. she love kids but not boys of men. i have notice she has became a lot more open no. now i needed more tricks. her favorite tricks are singing, say i love u, robin, please. and roll over but play dead still working on. she doesn't know how to keep her head down can u help me with that.

  • good tip! thanks

  • Terrific! I will so be teaching my dog this!

  • Do i have to have a "clicker" or cant i just clap my hands or some other clicking noise???

  • this is exactly what i was looking for!!! great video! how long did it take your dog to learn this trick ??? xxxx

  • I have a question, my dog is already used to jumping and stuff, so I tried parcticing, but aparently she does not jump if she doesn't hear or see the treat fall in the other side D: what should I do? she will not jump unless the treat is trown to the other side.

  • that dog is beautiful dose it have blue eyes some of those type of dogs have one eye blue-gray and the other brown or black

  • im training my puppy and she getting it! thank you...what kind of dog is that?

  • hey is your dogs name kiko cuz that is my dogs name

  • What do you mean by repetitive jumping? (my dog is under 2)

  • what kind of dog is that?

  • im not completely sure but i think it is an australian sheperd

  • When i get a younger dog i will try teaching him this. (I have a dog, but she is really old and just cant do this kind of stuff.) So i will wait until she is gone and get a younger dog to do this. (I will really miss my dog when the time comes to say good bye tho.)

  • Uhmm.. I had a question about my dog... Should I say anthing when he jumps over my arms?

  • GReatttt VIDEO REALLY HELPED MY TEACH MY DOG TO JUMP THROUGH ARMS! 5/5

  • nice thanks for sharing. gonna be starting these kind of tricks with my 11 month kelpie

  • great vid thanks!

  • Very helpful video. thanks so much for sharing!

  • when do u start training your dog to jump? what age??

  • This vid has reely helped me. My dog can jump thru my arms now =] It took a long time tho almost a month she kept knocking me down and bumping into me. She's a labrador so it really hurt.

  • I can't get my little dog to jump through my arms yet, but I can get her to jump over one arm at a time. She needs the toy thrown over for her still... too difficult to throw it and then make a hoop lol. Thanks tho, I love this trick!

  • Great vid! Your dog is really well trained! Thanks! x

  • I taught Matty to jump through my arms last night like you were doing with kiko in this video and he got it down, but we tried it again today, and repeatedly i had the tar knocked out of me. He kept headbutting me in the jaw. It was very, very painful. Try saying good boy in a happy tone when that's happening. Lol

  • i think its impossible to teach my jack russel! sshes not like other ones!! shes a LAZY jack russel and i keep trying it and she crawls under my arms or just sits there! plz help!!!!!

  • use cheese lol. my shihpoo wanted to sit or crawl under too... threw cheese pieces over my arm and she jumped everytime! now she can do it for a toy

  • youre awsome. we have a border collie that is 9 weeks old. i look forward and hope to have the relationship you have with yuors. its cool you are putting this info on here for free. look forward to future videos, thanx

  • Great tutorial, very clear as always! Mika LOVES jumping over my arms or any body part, it's one of her favourite treats and she barks as she does it!

  • no...

  • i need your help my dog can only jumpover my arm if i throw a treat ive been practiseeng for 3 days and still she just waits for the treat to go over my hand if i dont throw it she wont jump(need ur help!)

  • same thing happens to me!

  • well i tried that with my great dane and she just walked over my arms so i went higher and she went under them. is it because of her size??

  • hahaha!!!! thats so funny...I saw my first great dane pup the other day,,soooo cute, it had the same markings as my border collie! or similar anywho...i'd make sure it understands over/under, I dont think dane are known to be jumpers but I'm sure they can jump...my brother has a jack russel that can jump his 5yrold daughters head!!

  • put something under your arm so it won't walk under it..

  • I have a question. When is it ok to teach a pup to jump? I believe its bad for a young pup to jump very often but when is the right time? tnx.

  • I've always heard about 1, somewhere in this video she say wait till 2 years old

a good rule of thumb is when they've fully grown...wait a 3-4 months for the joints to settle and muscle to strengthen, smaller dogs is a little less than a year, med more than a year, and great danes could be two or so, ask you vet or listen to kikopup, she's got more experience than me.

The key work is 'repetitive' though, puppies do jump around, u can show this or hurdles, just do it 3-4 times onceevery3-4 days

  • tnx bro.... nice dog and music too...

  • thanks you!!!

  • This is a great tutorial. The only thing I would criticize is that you don't allow enough time so people can read everything without pausing and rewinding the video. Otherwise this is great! Thanks for sharing!

  • i was laughing soooo sooooo soooo hard on 1:47 lololol

  • Oh my gosh what a gorgeous dog! What breed?

    What breed is Spash please?

    Thanks!

  • splash is a Border collie

  • She looks like an australian collie. xDD

    Not sure.. o-o

  • im pawsitive shes a bc!LOL=)

wait r u talkin bout an australian shepherd?LOL

  • shes not an aussie because she has a tail :)

  • assie do have tails but are docked within a few days of being born but in saying that yes some are born without as the same as some boxers and other breeds can be

  • i have seen some with tails but its really not common. my aussies tail wa docked and you can tell by the roudness of her bone as if it was healed after something

  • yer i see them with both tails and no tails at agility comps i think they look cute with both a tail and no tail

  • Aussies don't have tails? XD

    Ohh. Lol.

  • As always, an incredibly fun and truly amazing video! I like it so much!!! I'll try it with my dogs and dedicate the video to you :-). You always inspire me, thank you so much!!!

  • This is amazing! i'll try it with my

  • oh! I love it! I will teach it to Sasha. I was wondering, do you ever have probs training both of your dogs together? I know when I work w/ one the other gets upset.

  • Love it as always. I actually worked with my dogs just last week on this. (I lured, so I like the toy approach better.) If you could ever show some first attempt shots of a new behavior, I would appreciate knowing what the very beggining stages should look like even if it's not glamorous so us begginers could have a better gounding. Of course, if that was Splashes fist attempt...then I simply want your dog instead :)

  • It was Splash's first time doing that. But she already knows to jump through arm hoops in the same way (the cue 'jump though'. and the cue 'hup' to jump over something. If your dog does agility you could put a jump under each of your arms, and have your dog generalize it that way. Also to get the dog to jump over you you could sit under the agility jump. :) Next time I will show the first steps! :) I was actually just fooling around in the yard and turned it into a video...

  • p.s. during the beginning stages of teaching her to jump through my arms, she nearly broke my nose, causing a blood bath. I should put a warning- DONT LOOK THROUGH THE HOOP AS YOUR DOG JUMPS THROUGH! :)

  • So what did you do in the beggining to get her to jump through your arms. I was planning on starting with a hoop and hoped it would generalize. I haven't done any agility or freestyle yet but I think we're getting closer to starting.

  • Just rest your arm on the ground and have the dog walk over it, and then gradually raise it.

  • I will try to teach my dog!

  • Fantástica la explicación y la claridad con la que muestras el proceso.

    Espero...más:))

    Muchas gracias

    Un saludo

  • Excelente!!! super Kiko ;=)

  • As always, a fun and easy to follow training video! Splash is one incredible dog!!!!

    Tracy

  • it looks like splash was getting a bit worn out on the long repeated jumps over your arms, your doing a great job training though!

  • I upped her criteria on that one, thats why she slowed and looked like "are you serious?" I usually have her jump through my arms in a hoop but the average jumps is usually 3. With this new behavior I bumped the average to 4 1/4 jumps very quickly (which means doing 5 jumps, 1 jumps, 8 jumps, 3 jumps etc) The key to keeping behaviors at their best and the games exciting is being completely unpredictable. She then went on to play with a ball racing around the yard for 30 min.

  • hehe well at least she got a big rewards at the end, she seems very driven for that ball. Keep up the good work ^_^ I hope to see more fun tutorials in the future when you have time.

  • Very nice! Looks like you're getting ready to do disc doggin' with some of those moves!

  • Awesome! If Faith and I wernt working on the tippy board and weave poles now we'd diffenly try that! =D

  • Always enjoy your videos. Keep them comming.

  • Yeah, another video:)! Splash! looks great and she really loves the speaky toy:)! 5 STARS!
