It's almost like if the U.S. honored Bush for the Iraq war, and they celebrated the defeat of the Iraqi people, and they made a holiday of it, making Bush the hero, creating a "Bush day". But hundreds of years later, the U.S. fills up with Iraqis and they start to condemn Bush and "Bush day" that has been celebrated in the U.S. forever. That is what happened to America. It used to be a white country, celebrating the Amerindian defeat with Columbus, but now Hispanics come here and tear him down.

Columbus day was a day meant for a white America, because the Europeans triumphed over the Native Americans in battle. But today's America is no longer a white America, that is why now there is all of these types of videos and people condemning Columbus day. Much of the Hispanics in this country are descended from Amerindians, so because of that, they are leading the anti-Columbus cause. The whites have let in the very people that they celebrated defeating, so of course their hero is facing it.

Not only was this land inhabited thousands of years even before Leif Erikson arrived (whom beat Columbus for the white explorers by 500 years) it held civilized and organized societies that Europe could not rival, the Myans held mathematical and astronomical knowledge generations ahead of any white man of the time and the Aztecs had built the largest and cleanest of modern cities of the time in "Tenochtitlan." @MyHealingSoul Columbus called it a discovery because the land was unknown to the Europeans. The definition of discover is: to obtain sight or knowledge of for the first time. Columbus discovered America for the Europeans. Didn't mean that the discovery was incapable of inhabited.
