@sneakiekitkat: It's best if you stock up throughout the month so you have plenty for Halloween. But if you have a matching costume (for example, blue zap shirt with blue zap helmet), you can go in an animal's house to trick-or-treat for candy. Leave and re-enter and you can do it over and over. For animals that are outside, it's helpful to trap them (dig holes around them) before 6:00 so that they can't bother you once Jack comes.

Besides buying candy from tom nook, you can also save your candy that you had from easter. Like when you open the eggs and its either bunny foil or candy :D Just save it :) Thats what i do.

Your costume won't be destroyed (as long as you are wearing both items at the same time).

This isn't a tip like my other ones but I have a question. Do you need an accesory to not get your costume messed up. Because I was gonna go as Link with my hero clothes and hero's hat.

@cpicecheats1: Most costumes just consist of a shirt and a hat, so that's all you need. So your Link costume will be fine.

*Tip* You can easily tell if one of them is Jack or not. If he does not run towards you than he is not one of those douchebag animals.

*Tip* If you're saving your candy for Jack don't wear a costume with any good clothing you have. This means that you should just use the pumpkin head and patched shirt. They can't effect those and are natrually programmed by Nintendo making them stupid enough to sometimes try and wreck your wrecked clothing.

@XNintendrewX: Basically by not walking on the grass. That's why I recommend walking on paths to get around. Flowers do help the grass regrow quicker.

Ugh, I got everything except for the Spooky Chair. Jack REFUSED to give me one. I tried to get one for like 3 hours. Then I just gave up. AAAAAND I had to time travel back one day because my sister, her friend, and I were out trick-or-treating pretty late, and when we got home I was hurting everywhere and my boots were KILLING me. @candycane5456: From the Able Sisters. They will usually tell you if a shirt goes with a certain look. Just wear the appropriate accessory that goes with the shirt. For example, the wrestler shirt with the wrestler mask, or the detective outfit with the detective hat.

On Halloween, you can get additional candy by trick-or-treating: Going into animals houses (the ones that aren't outside) while wearing a matching costume to get a piece of candy. You can get different fruit from other towns, or you may occasionally get some from animals.
