The book of Job is quite clearly a parable while Kings is about historical characters. Revelations is its own genre as are the letters of Paul and the Gospels. Every book of the Bible must be read on its own terms, but the five books of Moses are best read as one epic narrative.

The story of Genesis was not written down in hopes of conveying a "myth." To the Jews of the time, and praticing Jews now, it was/is seen as a literal recording of events as they actually accord. You can disagree with it, or believe it but it's intellectually dishonest to say it was recorded as a myth. Genesis gives a history of early mankind and describes events billions to be true.

@924142707 If it's a literal history, how do you explain the fact that God speaks the same language as Adam, as does a snake, a woman is made from the man's side, some fruit makes Adam and Eve aware that they're naked, etc. A myth is not untrue, but it is about what lies behind truth. Why else would the story be packed with so much meaning?

I am not presenting anything as fact. I just find it sad that as someone who is on the road to becoming  a Christian, YT videos are abundant with people trying to disprove the Bible or present it as something which it is not intended. Luckily there are videos on here that stay true to the meaning in the Bible. S'pose there is something on here for everyone.

But how do you know what the true intent of the books of the Bible are? There are 30,000 Christian denominations worldwide. How do you know your denomination is correct? Or your church? As I stated in the vid, I try to look at the material from a historical perspective as opposed to using my own religion as the basis for my research.

I know that God didn't speak in riddles. He didn't send his word for people to decipher, he sent it for all to understand. I am not any 'denomination' I believe what it says 100% and try to lead a Christian life according to the Bible, not according to what any denomination teaches.

One word for it would be a "riddle," another would be a "parable." Jesus told many parables! The Jews understood their power in conveying heavenly truths. And one doesn't understand the internal meaning of a parable immediately, correct?
