  • LOL! "With the exception of the reciever (frame), barrel and slide." A.k.a. the three most major components. I liked a Colt Mk IV "Government" .380 that I got to use. Hopefully they got rid of the problem with the extractor breaking during cleaning.

  • @garyp53161

Then you got the only one that worked.

I had two back in the day and they were turds. They barely worked, sent back and forth to colt numerous times. Finally they gave me credit. I bought a pony and that was garbage too. Buy a sig p238 and know it will work with modern sights and better looks.

  • make one preferably .45 will take .40 at least 5 rounds and ill have one

  • Kimber's new .380 is $1,100+ so the price on the Colt is quite reasonable.

  • Well alrighty than....Seecamp it is!

  • shit i saw this gun go for $600, why so expensive for such a small gun

  • @GuardianDemonX

Because, if it is anything like the similar Sig, it is built to the same quality level as a full-size pistol. I like all of my tiny cheap pocket guns, but they are all clearly inferior overall. The p238 works perfectly with any ammo, and all of the parts work perfectly. No weird trigger action, no loose or finicky slide operation, and the assembly pins don't wiggle out.

  • imho .. not enough stopping power.

  • @torontothegood imho you're wrong a shooter should go with whatever caliber they shoot the best for self defense and not worry about power they'll all get the job done with good placement

  • Just got mine 3 days ago.. very nice. Had some Slide Lock problems that im trying to fix, might have to send back to colt and get them to fix it.. of 150 rounds, 1 failure to feed. 7 or 8 slide lock back while gun had more rounds in mag.

  • 10 months later, neither the new Mustang nor the SP901 are available from Colt. I wonder what new products Colt wont be releasing in 2012... :-/

  • @FoleyonBass really? How so?

  • does anyone know if the the mustang is CA legal?

because i was going to buy a Sig P238 and its CA legal but only for LE

    =( WHAT ABOUT THE MUSTANG?

  • exposed hammer....no good

  • Is that Ron Swanson?

  • The Mustang probably won't come in 9mm for a while, as the Defender series is available in 9mm.

My Sig P238 has a LOT of working wear on it ! Why on earth did you wait so long ?

  • My Colt Pony Pocketlite sucks! Trigger pin falls out with recoil. Bought new in 1999.

  • Yeah I have a Kahr CM9. I can shoot +P 9mm, or even +P+ . But still the small Colt would be cool next to my Colt Rail Gun.

  • Bad Ass! They are making the Mustang again!!!!

  • good little metal pistol.

  • The Sig Sauer P238 still is way better then the Colt Mustang. The colt mustang is old tech even with the upgrades.

  • @hyperman717 colt all the way

  • Already bought the Sig Sauer p238, Colt..you should of kept the mustang in production.

  • Now they just need to bring back the DA revolvers....I'm drooling just at the thought of it.

  • It's SCRATCHED!!!! MY EYES ARE BLEEDING!!!! lol

  • Hurry up and get them on the market....dang.

  • Production begins in September, will being shipping in early November (according to Colt CS rep).

  • I want it now so stop bragging and start making them and shipping them ASAP

  • I want one.

  • I like pretty shiny-steel .380s: Walther PPK, Sig Saur and Browning. I have a little black Beretta 84F and a Ruger LCP. So, the Ruger is in my Mom's car and a Kel-Tec P-11 9mm is inside mine. Pretty guns waste closet space but I still like them.

  • Is thier any place that has info about this pistol. I've tried the website, but cant find any info.

  • WONDER IF IT WOULD COME TO CALIFORNOIA

  • Anyone who knocks this gun obviously never shot one

I have the original colt mustang pocketlite and after trying the new Lcp from Ruger taurus , smith and Wesson etc they all suck compared to this gun

This Colt Is awesome and accurate to at least 25-30 feet

The Lcp types are good for maybe 15 feet max

  • They look like they are still using the plastic guide rod(with 2 springs) and the plastic trigger. C'mon Colt!!!

  • They should have updated the sights like the Sig P238. I love the look of the Colt Mustang and it looks better than the Sig P238 in my opinion, but I hate those sights on the Colt Mustang.

  • Any idea if colt plans to reintroduce the .380 government model?

  • O well. There goes the value of the one I bought 17 years ago! I'll never part with that little beauty!

  • BYE BYE LCP! Finally a pocket gun with a good trigger that isnt 15lbs! I bet that gun will be sooo easy to shoot accurately compared to guns like the keltec, rugers, and kahrs. I would easily pay $700 for a gun like that. S***, I would pay $900.

  • @mccartjm2 tham right its just the cheap skates that don't know a good gun i have colt M4 .223 colt defender .45

and NEVER ONE PROB I RAN INTO THIS VIDEO SHOPPING FOR THE MUSTANG SWEET IM BUYING TWO ONE FOR ME ONE FOR MY WIFE ...!!

  • @BSRadar100 Well now we're just talking about how one words it, I don't feel underpowered carrying a pistol because I practice to be proficient in it. You might not be comprising but I am because I wanna carry my Winchester 1300 but I can't get away with hiding it, so I take the pistol with me instead, that's a compromise to me.

  • 1911 fan here and was always intrigued by the Colt Mustang. Certainly gonna try one out when they're released. I've shot the P238 and found it to be accurate. WHAT I HIGHLY WOULD RECOMMEND CHECKING OUT IS THE NEW KIMBER SOLO- 9MM- POCKET PISTOL- ALL METAL. FITS THE POCKET PISTOL SPECS IN HEIGHT & WEIGHT. COMES WITH 6 ROUND MAG- 8 ROUNDS COMING OUT IN COUPLE OF MONTHS. THESE SEMI'S JUST HIT THE STREET SO SUPPLIES ARE TIGHT. HAVE FUN SHOOTIN ALL THREE & THAN DECIDE. PEACE.

  • Awesome! Glad it’s making a comeback!

My only hang-up is carrying a gun “cocked and locked”. I just don’t feel comfortable doing that. Since the Mustang is essentially a “mini-1911”, why don’t they add a beavertail safety?

  • @huskerdaisy This is a good question, I'd like to know the answer myself. The sig P238 doesn't have one either...

  • I can't wait till . I have a great older one I put away a few years back . Great little pistol !!!

  • Well this pistol was popular back in the day, but had some reliablity issues if you got a lemon. Looks like they fixed that, and I am sure it will still be a very popular carry weapon, expecialy for the older crowd. The price however may limit sales.

  • Dude, sweet! I am glad I waited on a pocket pistol. I see I will be rewarded in the end.....but still thinking on a Kel-Tec p11

  • no effing way!

  • why dont they make a 9mm in this small of a frame? the 380 hardly has and kick at all and my wifes J frame 38spl is lighter than this gun, any reson why they couldnt make a pocket 9mm? LOVE this gun by the way, single action pocket pistol!! WOW!! talk about improving accuracy over they long crappy trigger pull of the other 380's!

  • I fell in love with the Mustang and am so happy they are bringing it back....although its a little late considering we have all purchased Kel tecs and Ruger LCP's and it's about 300 dollars over priced.

  • @bensmountain1 The fact it's CNC milled from bar stock and not cast is a large reason for the increased cost.

  • ill love it for $300 less

  • lol, twice the price of the competition

  • thanks colt only about 2 years late. all us working class people who cant afford to buy many guns have already purchased LCP's Sig's, Kel tecs .

  • @ramtron1775 Geez...I hope Colt read your message cause you are SURE RIGHT !!!!

  • @ramtron1775 I agree. Kind of upset, lol. I bought Ruger LCP due to comfortable carrying weapon and fits inside the pocket but I always prefer Colt weapons, they didn't have a .380 until now. Wished they came out before Ruger LCP but I guess at least LCP is pretty good weapon rather than worse one.

  • @joshiesworld

I wouldn't worry about it bro....I still love my LCP and as you know, when it is on you, you hardly even remember yolu have it during pockett carry. I just upgreaded and put a side mount lazer on mine. Not bad at all for 90 bucks..

  • @ramtron1775 Side mount laser for 90 bucks? Not bad at all. I bought my gun for $450. Not for just LCP itself though. I bought Ruger LCP w/ crimson laser. I agree that when carrying it feels as if it's not in the pocket. I usually forgets about having in my pocket enough to almost to have a accident of walking into a place that doesn't allow guns, but luckily that the door hits my side and reminded me that I was carrying a gun and forgot to leave it in my truck.

  • @ramtron1775 But still, it'd be nice to have another colt. I have Colt 1911 for my home protection, as much as I loved Colt 1911, I told myself to always buy colt weapons any time I am goes for guns shopping. When I got tired of carrying a big gun, wanted to carry a lot lighter for comfortable and couldn't find any colt pocket gun so I went with Ruger. Ruger LCP is a great gun. But I have never tried Colt one yet though, have you tested it?

  • Now all Colt needs to do is scale it up to 9mm & I will definitely be on board.

  • @Belushi32 The bullets are the same diameter XD .380 acp, also known as 9mm short and 9x17mm LOL. I hope you're joking

  • @Cds56 I know they are the same diameter. However the 9mm Luger rounds I shoot tend to be 124-147 grain +P rounds. .380 acp cannot touch that in ballistics. The 9mm luger is a far superior round. I would totally love the Mustang if it was chambered up from the .380acp. In the meantime I am going to get myself a Glock 26 for my CCW. That way I can utilize all the other glock magazines I have for my Kel Tec Sub2000.

  • @Belushi32

I said that in 1996. Well, SIG is finally doing it, called the SIG P938. Due this year 2012>

  • finally, are they producing these mainstream again?

  • the magnum-mini desert Eagle had a plastic trigger that broke on one video when they were doing a review, so I didn't buy it,... so you're saying they've worked out the kinks here

  • Well, they've got my money. I've been looking into getting a pocket pistol for a while, and I like the look of the mustang. The MSRP is quite respectable for a colt too. I know what my birthday present shall be.

  • On a side note I want one of these, if only .380 was more abundant and cheap.

  • @N5II 380 16 - 20 bucks a box, 9mm 8 dollars to 20 bucks a box. hmmm I always wonder why 380 is so damn expensive.

  • WOW! That things STINKIN SWEET!! I'm lovin all the new mini 1911's on the market! (i realize the mustang isnt exactly new)--I checked out that new sig mini 1911 the other day at my LGS--SWEET gun--but for 750 bucks--I'm more interested in this one for sure!! MT is talking about making it so you dont need a CCL to carry concealed anymore! part of the Firearms Freedom act! I love MT!

  • @shootcentermass now and days, you can take a 9mm to the forehead and still have a 65% chance of survival when it was less than 1% chance of survival if that back in the 1900s.

  • @Renta1Cop That might be true in rare instances where people are hit with plain old FMJs and but I guarantee the person you drill in the head with a 147 grain hollowpoint isn't doing anything or going anywhere anytime soon, they might get lucky and be brain dead for the rest of their life but the odds are definitely against them. Every caliber can fail and every caliber can kill if used properly, spot placement trumps everything else.

  • @N5II Well nothing is perfect, we should all know that. No bullet is an end all beat all man stopper/ attacker killer so on so forth. Bullet placement can be key. However, lets not beat around the bush, a 380 was just not made to do what duty calibers are.

  • @Renta1Cop

If that's all you have, or all you can afford, it beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

  • @Renta1Cop No it's not, it's a backup caliber. 9mm isn't, it's a very capable round as long as the shooter know that what their doing. I was just a little off put by how quickly you discredited the 9mm, all handgun rounds are underpowered that's why you need to make what you got count. I just don't buy into the claim that one caliber in particular is perfect for self defense, I'm going to keep double tapping a threat till they cease being a threat to me. Caliber be damned, just my 2 cents.

  • @N5II you take any caliber and it will kill someone.I can hit someone up close with a 22 in the head and they may die.It doesn't mean its a very useful defense round,9mm is not a bad round in a correct loading, but you cannot make a 32 auto, a 25 auto, or even a 380 do what a 9mm will do.You may get some tiny little gun that you can fit anywhere but unless your within 5 feet, its about as useful as boat with holes. My personal thoughts are that anything below duty calibers are useless in defense.

  • @N5II - I beg to differ - 10mm has unbelievable stopping power

  • @BSRadar100 All pistols are a compromise and that is fact, every time you carry a pistol of any type it's a comprise to having a rifle, shotgun, or other long gun. Sure some rounds are better than others but at the end of the day it's a pistol. It's not meant to be used as a primary weapon, it's meant to be something you can easily conceal and have on your person at all times, it's a lifeline. 10mm, 44 magnum, etc are tough customers but again their merely substitutes for a long gun.

  • @N5II - I agree with you. I would take a rifle/shotgun any day over a pistol for performance. However, the reality is a rifle/shotgun can't be carried around as readily as a pistol. It's not that a pistol is a compromise it's that it is much more practical means of self defense than a shotgun or rifle when you are outside your home. I mean I would love to be able to carry my Mossberg 500 everywhere I go, but both you and I know that is not possible. I am not compromising by selecting a pistol.

  • @shootcentermass i tell most people that you should never carry a weapon with a non duty cartridge, ie 9mm, 40 SW, 45 ACP, 357 Sig, 38 spl, 357 magnum. 32 auto, 25 auto, 380 and so on was a useful cartridge back in the day when modern medicine was not what it was. In the early 1900s if you shot someone in the gut with a 32 auto or even a 380, that person walks away and most likely would die. Mostly because its not the bullet that killed them, it was the infection from the wound.

  • @Renta1Cop I hear you man, I'm not comfortable with anything smaller than 9mm. My preference is .40 though.

  • @MikeReiner I used to be big in 40 SW, fantastic round don't get me wrong. The thing is, light 40s come in 135 grain, I can get a 9mm in a 147 grain loading. Also to top it off, price difference for ammo is a big part in it. As well as the fact that in any country in the world u can get 9mm. Price was the biggest reason I gave up my 40s, with a 147 grain loading, its going to get the job done.

  • @Renta1Cop Yeah I heavy 9mm is probably a better round than a light .40, but I like 180 grain .40s. I think it's a good compromise between 147 grain 9mm and 230 grain .45 ACP.

The price gap doesn't bother me, but then again I don't shoot 300 or so rounds a month.

  • Looks retro to the old style pocket pistols Colt sold in the 30' & 40's.

Bullet placement is the key to small calibers.

  • Most important dimension in a pistol of this type is thickness and I got no clue of this from your video. 380 is plenty deadly guys, you just need to aim better.

  • @shootcentermass sorry partner but i am not a fan of the 380, it in my book doesn't get the job done.

  • ah, cute and deadly

  • this gun is useful for one thing and one thing only, sticking someone in the gut and pulling the trigger til its empty

  • Are we going to get any gun reviews or shooting videos soon?

  • the sig p238 is based off this gun not the other way around

  • I haven't shot all the 380s out there, but I have hated everyone I have shot .

  • @leftofcenter13 Why?

  • Yes I wose hoping colt would start making them a gene I am so happey if I ever have the muney$ I definetley would not pass this up.Now I hope this just isent a temerarey thing I hope this is a permunet thing.

  • 1:00 BANG!!!

  • Yea when are they going to start making "real" 1911s again like they did years ago?

  • @Forgoten214 they wont.

  • Or get a Sig P238 now!

  • @jrossi9250 sig p238 is a waste of money.

  • been waiting for this video

  • Sweet!!

  • 500 only the retail woo i could get it for like 390 here in mississippi WOO!

  • my dad has 3 of the old ones 1 for him me and my brother. they are very nice guns but not that accurate.

  • @groundzero94 any gun it accurate , ma u just gotta know where to hold, aim. checkout hickok45 he can hit a 80 yard gong with an lcp. so i think its possible.

    ,jon

  • @lynette1953 believe me they are not the most accurate guns out there. and if you say they are you must of never shot one and if you have not shot one you can not talk shit.

  • @groundzero94 wow, i didnt know i was "talking shit"...

  • @groundzero94 ; Accuracy is in the shooter, not the gun.

  • @USFA45LC i would like to see you shoot one of these then.then see what you say:)

  • @groundzero94 ; I've had one since 1989. What's the problem? A weapon is only as accurate as the operator. It's that simple. If you've had problems with accuracy regarding this particular weapon, then you either need practice or there is something wrong with your Mustang.

  • @groundzero94

There is a youtube user, not going to mention any names (hickock45) that can hit an 18" target, at 80 yards, with a .380. If you can't....It's you, NOT the gun.

  • @lostburro He doesn't usually go for groupings however. I actually can tell a difference in groups (not necessarily hitting the target as a whole) when I use higher quality ammo. (I agree with your point to the OP though)

  • @Riflemanm16a2

Right now, with my glasses, I can't hit JS! But with my contacts in I can do "OK". Not as well as I'd like...but OK. There is NO WAY I'm going to blame my gun on MY poor shooting.

ANY weapon requires practice. I've got two AR15's, and have different results with each. I can't blame the guns for MY results. I just need to figure out what the difference is between weapons and how I can correct for the differences.

When my finances allow new glasses I can, and will, do better...!

  • @lostburro i can hit a 80 yard gong to dumb ass its not like a 380 is not going to go that far i mean think befor you post dumb ass.

  • @groundzero94

What? You're the one who said a .380 wasn't an accurate caliber. I'm not sure what "a 80 yard gong TO dumb ass" is though.

Upload the video so we can all see you hit it, at 80 yards, with that inaccurate ammunition.

  • @lostburro lol you are a dumb ass all i sayed was that this gun is not the most accurate gun it has a 2 3/4 in barrel. you whant it to be a sniper? and have you ever shot a pocket gun? they are not that most accurate gun out there are you start all this shit acting like it a fucking sniper.

  • @USFA45LC

    AMEN!

  • mmm...i love me a baby 1911

  • WOOT I WANT ONE!
