This was our first trip west for this race and while we got beat in the semis, it was exciting all the same. I remember pulling a guy out of the remains of his nitro funny car well past the finish line the first day of qualifying. This was a great race to attend as a spectator or driver.
Your grandpa is the most under-appreciated story in all of drag racing. We have been friends for years and it is amazing no one in the mainstream media hasnt picked up on his racing. Their loss. Tell mom everyone in Omaha says hello.
