I don't have encephalitis but I have had encephalopathy for about a year now. It started from a virus that caused my brain to swell up and now everything in life is so much harder. I can't concentrate, my vision is erratic and unfocused, I am always sad, my balance and gait is horrible. I keep telling the doctor I feel like shit but he says I've made a full recovery. My grades are dropping. I've seriously been considering suicide because I can't take the suffering any more. Any words of advice?
I am 60 years old. I had encephalitis when I was 10 years old. I almost died, but instead went into a coma for 3 months, in hospital. I had lost my memory and I could not walk, but I slowly came around after several months. I completely recovered and had no side affects.
I was just diagnosed with Viral Limbic Encephalitis. stemming from the Epstein Barr Virus. Which stemmed from kissing a girl whic did not know she had Mono when we were both in the 9th grade, THAT WAS 30 YEARS AGO! 14 years of Personailty Disorder, and chronic headaches, and lesions. Now my CBC are revealing less and less Heterophile Antibodies so I am on the road to healing
@thedavisgroup i had it too last year and i dont know how i get it i was hospitalised and after 5 days i came to my senses but till now i always had this terrible pain on my head and i can easily forget things within a few second and sometime i feel as if i'm useless i can hardly remember my own identity card no
A family member of mine has this disease man. She is almost 2 months in coma now. But is there a rate of how many people suffering from this will have a form of permanent disability and if so what would be the ranges of those disabilities? and in the mean time I pray for my cousin and all other human beings who suffer from this disease to recover fully. Amen.
I had encephalitis in 2004 and I was in a coma for 2 months, and in the hospital for a year. I made a full recovery but I'm still on anti seizure medication, I'm not at a point where I can risk it by going off it to see if I still have them.
I had encephalitis when i was 2, i have this one little memory of freaking out in a hospital and then falling out, my parents told me that they had to strap me down with belts so i would not fall out the bed again, but from other stories i heard about it sound really scary. :(
My brother had it 5 years ago. He started saying this that made no sense. He didnt know who we were. We took him to the hospital where he fell into a coma and for 5 days they had him on a respiratin type machine. He came to after 5 days and was still acting strange. after a couple of weeks he came back to normal. The doctor said that in 21 yrs of working with the illness he never saw such a great recovery. Usualy someone who gets it is left with a form of disability. 25 Baptist churches prayd4im
