I'll be honest I never play rFactor much, it got boring and can't really be called a sim in my opinion I just thought the cars didn't handle properly. Honestly though it's GT all the way for me.

GranTurismo isn't comparable to rFactor and Live for Speed, cause it's much better, despite the lack of damage although it will be implemented in GT5. I've played rFactor and Live for Speed, GranTurismo pisses all over them both. Live for Speed concentrated more on the physics and the damage. For example the tyres deform depending on the the angle of the cars movement, but then, the damage isn't really any good at all.

I'm still laughing at the people who think that Gran Turismo or Forza is comparable to rFactor, iRacing and Live for Speed (and other PC racing sims). GT and Forza are considered garbage by racing sim enthusiasts.

this game just looks too neat..wheres the dust flying off the ground as the car goes past..wheres the leaves etc...u need more of a feel..everything looks way too clean thats the problem with these games....its all good having fab graphics..i rather have that dirt and leaves effect in the game.

polyphony can do better...The game needs to be more gritty...cars need to get dirty etc...shiny graphics isnt the be all end all...you cant talk realism and have clean graphics in every game

Well, that's video games for you bub. But if you want a gritty racer, not necessarily realistic, but gritty and fun, try Race Driver GRID. Heck, Need for Speed Shift might even cater to you.

Also, shiny graphics and that photorealistic, clean look has always been the focus of Polyphony Digital in the visuals department. That's why the Gran Turismo series has always been considered car porn.

This is a physics demo. They toned down the graphics a LOT. Its also for a time trial competition... Its 200 mbs... The full game will be like 50 gbs... Also it would have an engine that takes up gigabytes if they didn't cut out physics and data of every other car just for this demo.

It is all about realistic or easily control (gaming style).  GT is focus on the realistic, the physic as the real car. Forza is pretty much focus on everyone can pick up and play style. Since I like racing in the real world, I choose GT. It's actually makes people think what should they do to drive faster (as driving a real car), and I truly believe play more GT 5 with the G25 steering wheel can improve my real life driving skill.

@Robertslawno, Forza 3 is is better for you, that cause forza 3 is arcade , you don't understand what sim physics are really about, just go buy (Rfactor or Live for speed) just to get a feel of how sim really feels, and i will guarantee they feel the same as GT demo academy, in Forza 3 every car feel the same there is very low performance tunning, im not saying it sucks, its a great racing game,in forza 3 everyone can pick the consoler and play it with no problem, well that not a sim.

The only problem i have with this demo is when i load it up. And it then downscales the resolution to 720p!? Anybody have a knowledgeable idea why this happens? My HDTV supports 1080p resolution if this helps?

Its quite clear this was played with a joypad.

This demo is much better than the GT5 prologue in terms of surroundings and car graphics the replay is much better they took out the annoying fuzzy look from prologue. The demo looks a big improvement from the prologue cant wait to play it tomo:D
