I don't think it's too fast at all. If you make it slower than that the piece will sound like its dragging. I've heard it both ways and I like it in this tempo. Joshua Bell puts his whole body into the music and the emotion he adds to the music becomes a portal into the brilliance and beauty of a true masterpiece. (sorry I got carried away ^^) Joshua Bell ROCKS!!

I love this interpretation of Faure's wonderful song. The octave-lower section at 0.53 is particularly stunning for me! I'm having to play this for the trombone, so I'm trying to expose myself to as many interpretations as possible- it's rather enjoyable to say the least!
