Yep you got it. The former Pennsylvania's (Lincoln Secondary) just past the tower on CSX's Pere Marquette (Saginaw Division). During the Conrail years, the connection was disconnected from the PM. After the Conrail split, CSX reconnected the PRR line to the PM line.
You could consider it a hotspot. Most of the rail traffic through Carleton is CSX on the Pere Marquette.
The Detroit, Toledo, & Ironton has been getting more CN traffic lately, which all of their trains come on and off the Ann Arbor Railroad at Diann.
The Indiana & Ohio is the rare catch, because they don't run all the time, and you may get a different diesel locomotive every time they operate a freight.
The I&O is consider the rare catch when you got to Carleton
@jrahrig Yah The IORY yard is 10 minutes away from where I live. The IORY come through at night (most of the times). It is very rare to see them during the day.
Awsome Video!! I grew up in Carleton and remember seeing IORY through there quite frequently, this was of coures back in the late 90s, back then lots of interesting trains went through Carleton, I lived in the Trailer Park on the west side of the CSX Line so I could literally watch every CSX train pass my house out the kitchen window. Even with the downfall of traffic it is still a great place to watch with the diamond being right next to the crossing, and for me it brings back great memories.
There's probably a chance you will see some old GTW diesel locomotives around here. Most of the old units are shipped to Flat Rock Yard via the DT&S & DT&I.
From there, they are used on locals and automotive freights on the DT&I Dearborn Branch (Arch Line) to the Ford Rouge Plant and DT&I Mainline to Detroit.
Most of the railroad traffic through Carleton is on the Pere Marquette with CSX trains. The old DT&I has Indiana & Ohio Railway and CN. Most of the time its usually CSX and CN. IORY is the rare catch.
Doesn't the Pennsy split off on its own rail here?

It used to be in the 20th centry. Thats why the train tracks go right through the city of carleton.

Yeah, having worked for I&O I know they don't run many trains. Is it still possible to see GTW power run thru there.
