  • I love the Kansai region. I went last year and am going back in one week. Thanks for the vids. Oh, I never made it to Kyoto last year. I will this time.

  • Working in that store must suck as a stocker T^T I hate retail.

  • So Technically Daiso is the cheap version of Bed Bath & beyond of Japan!

  • i love how they have the same music we have here in stores just in japanese

  • I think we have that out here in California, its called Daiso-Japan.

  • You do choose your own club XDD

I would love to have clubs in my country's highschools. I just graduated this year (now I'm studying Japanese language and culture)

I would have loved to start an anime/manga/cosplay club wiith some other fans XD

  • Damn thats a big dollar store lol.

    Keep them coming.

  • Watched for 5 minutes, didn't see anything but you wandering aimlessly around the store, what does walking have to do with saving money?

  • Are many things translated to Romanji for american access or do you have to be able to read in Kanji? please reply.

  • How well do you know jappanese? and why are you in japan for school?, work?, fun

  • i allways heard about these stores.... but damn! thats HUGE ! i tought these shops were smaller hahaa

  • Beautiful neighbourhood!

  • 3:13! lol?

  • why are the stores called *hyaku-en* instead of *hyaku yen*???

  • @animelvr510 Because that's how the Japanese say it. It's also how you input it into a keyboard to get the correct kana for it. It's like a japanese person asking why we call their island "Japan" as they call their island "Nippon" "En" is the japanese name for "Yen"

  • most awesome dollar store EVER.

  • I miss Daiso :( I was able to go to one while visiting Yokosuka. I wish they were that great in the states!

  • Definitely, the Daiso stores are amazing. While I don't live in Japan Daiso opened a location here in Seattle at the Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood. My Japanese friends showed me this store one day. The quality is decent and the selection makes it a great place to pick up daily items inexpensively. Most of the items you showed were are the same here at the American location, Japanese packaging and all. It's become very popular with the locals.

  • yay its pretty, when i go to japan , ill be sure to go there :)

  • When I get older I want to move to Japan not just cuz of anime also cuz I love the food the life styles the money system everything

  • Thanks for the post as I never could understood e B A Y there in JP as it is still gibberish to me. A tip: to avoid noisy wind in the cam microphone, there is something professional used by pros known as 'dead-cat' cover as in GITZU but you can your own DIY with some other fabrics quite similar. Hope that helps.

  • i like tokyo

  • Gah, Paradise! Haha I have an unhealthy obsession with dollar stores.

I'd probably spend every yen I had in one of those places.

  • Theres a Diaso near where I live in Canada X3 I love going there everythings so cheap!

  • I'd like to visit Osaka soon.

  • Looks like a level from beautiful katamari

  • I think I found one of my favorite stores there in Japan! I could spend a couple hours here for sure!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • LifeInShiga, what exact part of japan do you live in, the streets look good, (am moving to japan in three years so im looking for a good place and and a nice job to go with it, although i know is gonna be hard) am african-american.

  • I live in Shiga-ken (Shiga Prefecture). It is in the Kansai region, next door to Kyoto. As for being an African-American, that will not be an issue at all in finding a job! I know quite a few who are English teachers here. :)

  • The amount of stuff..! One of my favourite things about Japan is the streets and layout of the place. You should do more videos on your bike, though the wind could be a factor if you were to talk throughout. Anyhow, thanks again! :)

  • I do want to do more bike vids, but, as you say, the wind is an issue. I suppose a nice ride with some music would be just fine. :)

  • Indeed it would!

  • its looks like a fun day out...also looks like you could get lost in there :S

  • haha, yeah, definitely! the first time I went there I forgot where the exit was! I wondered around for a while before I found it :)

  • it looks like the Japanese version of a 99 cents store

  • that's exactly what it is, just better quality! :)

  • Looks like a 'lifesaver' store. They have everything.

  • Yeah, it is a lifesaver. In fact, you can find many of the exact same things at other stores for 3-10 times as much! I don't know how they do it. Most of it is made in Japan too! Great quality.

  • most awesomest store. ever.

  • yes sir!

  • Great place for student bribes...I mean rewards : P

  • You said it! Absolutely!!

  • LOL- After lunch, I'm heading out to Lotte Mart, so I can hit up the Daiso section for a few things.

  • Nice! Diaso is a must if you are going to be able to afford living in Japan!

  • awesome place, the music is pretty loud which i like and the music is tasteful xD

  • yeah, that song that was playing is quite nice. i don't know the artist, but it's good shopping music :)

  • that place is HUGE!!! its like a Japanese walmart! ha ha awesome vid! can't wait for more!

  • it is huge, but that is nothing compared to some stores! i hope to get footage of a place called DIO World, it's like walmart and home depot combined!

  • I saw a lot of items, but I do not know what I would do with over half of those items.

  • Haha, I think many people, including myself and many Japanese, can agree with you! Some things there are so random and there are many different items that are for one purpose. Strange, but fun!

  • thanks for taking me shopping IN JAPAN :D

  • you are welcome! i have plans to show a few more stores too!

  • I like Daiso! Its really the best 100-EN shop. They do have some pretty weird random stuff as well. Great camera skills!!

  • Lol, the random stuff is great. I thought about showing some of it, but decided not to. I did show the door handle "sock" thing at 3:15 which is shaped quite suspiciously. They also have disposable underwear for men and women, not sure about that one!

  • FYI, they have a Right-On in that AL Plaza, dope socks 3 for ¥1,000.

  • Really!? Thanks, I haven't even been to the Right-On. I usually just hit the grocery store and Diaso.

  • dude teach me your bike camera skills...are you just holding it in your hand?

  • lol, yeah, just holding it in my hand :) my camera has image stabilization so that helps a bunch!

  • its like a japanese 99 cent store awesome!

  • that's exactly what it is! just better quality than the ones in America!

  • So this is the store you've been talking about in your other videos. Cool place. I'm looking forward to more videos! :)

  • It is, I hope to show a couple more related to "smart shopping" in Japan.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Sugoi! When you said that they have everything, they literally do have EVERYTHING!

  • Yeah, it is amazing how much stuff they fit into that store! It's so nice having one near me. :)
