I would like the evolution didn't be a religion. I would like that the ones that call themselves scientists went just what call themselves, scientists. When somebody wich calls himself scientist leaves her laboratory and he enters in a field that doesn't belong her, he takes a great risk of committing serious mistakes. No science -- including the field of evolutionary biology -- is a religion. Scientists do not profess to be better than other people... just more informed about certain things. And while the majority of scientists (and almost all evo. biologists) that I know are atheists, there are also some who believe in god.
Science is not confined to a laboratory... it is a method of inquiry that has many practical and wonderful applications throughout the world we live in.

Lol, well I think this kind of shows an ironic paralell.
Now, Richard dawkins certainly has points, and is a very intelligent man, but he does come across as a bit of an egotistical person who imposes his views on others. This, isn't really so different than your stereotypical mac person. they have have valid arguments, but they don't need to be asses about them.
Just my two cents.

I don't know about Mac users but it really bugs me when people think RD is egotistical etc. All he does is state his view and he is actually prepared to answer questions. What makes him _seem_ egotistical is that people aren't used to hearing their precious fairy stories pulled apart by a well spoken logical English gentleman. But you get some fucking evangelical retard shouting his head off on TV because he knows God personally and that's not egotistical at all, it's just dandy.

Well certainly whenever there's a tightly held belief on any side, things tend to "take it up a notch." I guess we all have to take into account everyone [for the most part] is expressing their belief in a well intentioned way.

Yes. I think it was a Hindu style many-gods set up in the OT originally but at some point it was systematically removed during translation in favour of a single god. A few instances were missed however. What a give away :-)
Then, much later they sort of revived it with the whole father / son / holy ghost but couldn't bear to drop the unique selling point of mono theism, thus ending up with the logical ape's nest of the trinity.

I see how you are so DESPERATE to make sure that Christians look foolish and stupid, even by using conceded Lies. You first use the excuse of a movie showing a "Christian" person running around swearing, and swinging an axe at people in a neighborhood; watching that kind of "first mention" can convince you that it's true.

I'm sorry, but this commercial is utter RIDICULE, Soviet-style. I know NO other Christian that cusses and jeers at non-Christians. In real life, things are quite the OPPOSITE from this commercial. And I believe people watch too much of it and are actually CONVINCED—just the MEDIA can control the public.
PS: I don't hate Richard Dawkins; I feel sorry for him because I'm concerned that he has been absolutely DUPED.

First paragraph: Christians that send mail (and voice such hate in person) aren't as uncommon as you seem to think.
Second paragraph: He's been duped? By what? A plethora of evidence to suggest one thing, and the courage and intellectual strength to go with that evidence rather than taking the easy path of blindly following the herd with absolute faith in the downright silly?

I would like the evolution didn't be a religion. I would like that the ones that call themselves scientists went just what call themselves, scientists. When somebody wich calls himself scientist leaves her laboratory and he enters in a field that doesn't belong her, he takes a great risk of committing serious mistakes. It would like that it was not the case of Mr. Richard, but it is.

No science -- including the field of evolutionary biology -- is a religion. Scientists do not profess to be better than other people... just more informed about certain things. And while the majority of scientists (and almost all evo. biologists) that I know are atheists, there are also some who believe in god.
Science is not confined to a laboratory... it is a method of inquiry that has many practical and wonderful applications throughout the world we live in.
