What's all the fuss about?? Really, make it real - the girl is of German and Portuguese descents, so what if she was born in Brazil or Germany or wherever. The fact doesn't remain in only "blood factor" and yet on traditions she was brought up in, and that my friends, only one person knows how much Brazilian, or German (or Turkish for that matter) she is...quit the blood type speculation...she may be B- and what does that matter if not only the person in question? Grow up guys!

The Portuguese want to deny Queen Silvia's Brazilian heritage, and take "ownership" of her identity, merely because she is a direct descendant of Portuguese peoples; but so are most Brazilians, many of whom resent this aspect of their personal history given the ruthlessness which characterized Portuguese colonial rule in Brazil.

The fact that she´s half brazilian is neirther a virtue nor a demerit. She does look very brazilian and might stand out in a country where the majority is thought to be blond. She does deserve reconigtion though for using her position to help relevant causes and to behave with poise and dignity in her role as queen. Fortunately we do not have monarchy here in Brazil but good and decent people like Silvia is welcome everywhere.

Check a study by anthropologist Peter Frost on light hair colour 2006. But I agree that we should be careful with stereotypes and overgeneralization.
