When you change the pitch or your vocal range the vocal chord become smaller and vibrate faster but the muscles around it do not contract-they expand. When he starts to sing in falsetto in the video his throat compresses as the note is higher and expands as it gets lower. Watch videos of healthy singers(especially opera singers)and you will see the space around expands to superhuman size as the pitch goes higher or the singer switches to falsetto/head voice.
The larynx should be kept at the lowest point during all every vocal, even through the presagio (always best developed through a descending scale). That is why the vowel should be obnubilated as the scale rises, even to a lesser degree during 'commercial' singing. I personally have trained a voice out of nodules, whereas surgery has been prescribed by focusing on ****secret*****
So, I saw this a week ago, and started working it into my warmups... This & the fry are helping me SO damn much. I'm staying connected through my rough spot.
mixed voice is killing me, i cant seem to find it, i can sing in the highest head voice but when i go down, theres no way for me to mix it with my chest voice, the only thing i can do to connect it with chest is going falsetto :S
why do all of these failure pop singers who dont know anything about music think that head voice is the same as falsetto?? they are NOT the same thing. Also, this is really bad advice, if youre doing something with your voice thats uncomfortable or hurts, it means you could be damaging your voice, it doesnt mean you should work it out like an athlete, definitely doesnt work that way.
chris keller and yuneshik are right its all about using the right muscles i used to sing very low because i was using the wrong ones but after the home training course from singing success and the tips on this channel i have gotten awesomely high with it i want to take lessons with chris or jesse that would be sweet
YuneShik YOU CLEARLY HAVE NEVER HEARD MY BROTHER ATTEMPT TO SING! he sounds like a zombie on valium, a completely tone deaf one at that. my mother can't sing either, nor can any of my friends. i like to sing but i don't have proper breath training or vocal strength to really belt anything out, however i have been told i have a great voice and can carry a tune, when i want to. i aspire to be a singer/songwriter in the music industry someday... gonna wait to record til my voice goes thru puberty.
Anyone can learn to sing. It's all about finding your voice (your style, etc). Lots of good singers are just "natural singers," meaning they were born naturally with the talent and voice. But that doesn't mean you can't learn to sing. Every voice is unique and every voice belongs to a vocal style.
As long as you practice hard and learn to master your vocals, anyone can learn to sing very well.
np :) some people (even professionals) think that you have to have the voice to sing well but that isn't true. Even Brett Manning says that anyone can learn to sing well.
@YuneShik Just to add a little to your insightful comment. I completely agree, and there's even some "natural singers" who damage their voices very early because they haven't had the need of much vocal training, and sometimes they do things they shouldn't just because they can. I think in some cases you learn to appreciate things better when you struggle to get them.
@YuneShik awwww thanks so much for that comment you just encoruge me, i want to be a singer but sometimes my voice sounds funny, but i write good songs that know will be some number one hits......
@brownsugababe88 Yep, singing is a lot about techniques, like learning to play an instrument. There are better ways to sing, and a bad way to sing. People you know as horrible singers just don't use the proper techniques and skills. (Some use their nose to sing and therefore sound very nasally and bad, some people cannot sing in tune because they do not practice singing in tune such as scales, etc). Natural singers are those who just found perfect techniques for their voice by accident.
@brownsugababe88 And I wish you luck with that dream :) The most difficult part is finding the style for your voice and mastering it, but it is also the most important part.
