I don't know why the fire dept didn't just put in a window - and release the bonnet catch and then nudge the vehicle out of the way - I suspect they panicked and went mental with the angle-grinder. Seems a drastic though - may have ended up tipping into 'write-off'.

At least that's a pretty unusual story - insurance should cough up.

This SUV was parked in Ktown, LA. If I remember correctly it was pretty windy day in LA and this suv was parked underneath the balm tree. To make the long story short, trees were swinging violently and one of em hit the power line causing it to spark and catch on fire... and burning leaves and heat from the tree did most of the damage. I felt bad for this suv owner. But! the LAFD did a nice job to make sure this suv is not salvageable for the owner. =T

No one really knows what happened that night. The LAPD said debris from burning palm trees fell on and around my Range Rover. The fire department destroyed the hood because the engine was smoldering. The question is, how did the palm trees catch on fire???
