@mcturk17 depends what kind of engine it is, this is a parallel twin engine which makes less power up top (and peak hp) then an inline 4 engine like u would see from the 600cc sport bikes like the zx-6, gsxr600, r6, cbr600rr. this bikes engine is built more for low end and midrange torque, the inlines more up top

No, that's about right for a 650R. MCN review in March 06 listed 0-60 as 3.16. The low end is pretty good on the vertical twin, with much less of a high RPM peak than an I4, and the gearing on a 650R is lower than most supersports. Result: very quick initial acceleration, but an I4 (like a ZX6R) will walk away from it in 1/4 mile.
Speedo says about 80 mph. But remember with these tachs, there is an 8% difference, you are actually traveling 8% slower than what is displayed. I also bought a 650R in 02 new. Great bike all around and easily modified.
