@danephillips if it's not reverse osmosis or some form of deionization so impurities can be seperated and flushed away from the filter -then it's not really purifying the water.
the PPM or TDS has to be reduced in order for it to really purify, these Carbon based filters do not reduce the PPM's of the water.

Can you tell us which system you liked the best? I am in the market of getting a filtration system in the near future and would like a recommendation from someone who has tried one. I am leaning towards the sink filter type... Also do any of the filters remove fluoride from the water?

it would have been nice to see the effectivness of each and the benefits or problems with any of them. also what about the brita filter? isnt that one of the more popular ones? i think that the activated charcoal system it uses would be better than most.
I've been thinking of getting a whole house water filter to filter heavy metals, floride and chlorine. Expensive though but I will do it :) Nice video by the way. I like the portable water bottle with the filter.
