Probably because they can't do as much as straight people. If you're gay, and your job finds out and doesn't like it, you'll be fired. You cannot get married unless you go to a certain state/country, many jokes are directed at gay people( causes much negativity), many get bullied through life, MANY gay people are thought to be pedophiles, and then there is some Christians who believe they are sinners. Straights aren't viewed like this, most of the time.
