Basically anything to do with IBM based PC was made fun by Apple. G3 and G4 were much faster than intels until core 2 duo came with less power consumption.
@runkaballe IBM got lazy and didn't make their processors for apple fast enough, energy efficient, and on the leading smaller nanometer die's when intel was on 90 nm, powerpc's were still 120. this used more power than the smaller dies and were not on top of the game, plus they made more heat. the dual core g5 chips had to be watercooled int he quad powermac g5. as did the dual powermac g5 2.7 ghz. IBM has faster than intel processors now, but they're practical for server and cluster use only.
"Great so that´s why apple went over to Intel???"
