  • The final Ralph & Sam cartoon.

  • I was born in 87' and Looney Tunes were still a heavy part of my childhood entertainment. You just can't beat the classics.

  • @DrPoon i was born in 93, and i hate the shit that came out after the year 2000

  • I've always wanted to lift up the dirt and crawl under the grass.

  • lol 5:30 I love it when cartoons shamelessly exaggerate

  • is it mean or dont Ralph Wolf resemble the Coyote?? lol

  • @Hovito86 `I think we all know it trully is Wille E Coyote but maybe he is taken a step forward from Bugs Daffy and company and plays a role that we all should not know he plays lol

  • @Hovito86 Ralph Wolf and Wile E Coyote were basically the same character. In the Warner Brothers cartoons, the wolf has a red nose but the coyote has a black nose, thus enabling the distinction between the two different characters.

  • Sooo...who's paying them?

  • I thought it was Willy E. Coyote . Is it him ?

  • Mornin' Ralph.

  • They have a very healthly separation of career life and personal life.

  • This particular cartoon always made me wonder if this is what the work place was really like....and, in some instances, it is lol. If people didn't take on-the-job shit so seriously it is anyway.

  • This is when cartoons were funny!

  • Oh Libba. Thank you x]

  • awesome. :D

  • Just goes to show you that violence in cartoons ,video games etc are NOT to blame for society's problems ,its the fact that you cant bust a kids ass when they need it that's to blame for so many out of control children, bring back the ass whippings when needed

  • is sam and ralph best friends?

  • @TheShinypalkia16 yepp, but are rivals at work

  • lol Noooo he HAD him! lol

  • 1. Its not sam and ralph, its sam and sam 2. So called ralph is not a wolf, he's a coyote.

  • All time show when i was growing up!

  • Miss these cartoons man, this and Coyote/roadrunner

  • 3:17 BOY that looks uncomfortable

  • so they get paid for screwing his companion's job...

  • @prettyangry That's how business works ;D

  • seems to me that the point here was that no matter how ridiculous the job was there was a union to represent it lol remember this was made back in the heyday of unions and warner brothers made fun of everything! mexicans, blacks, hillbillys, so why should unions be spared?

  • Agreed, overall not as good as some of the other Sam/Ralph cartoons, but has the one scene from this series I love the most .... when Ralph walks up in armour and sticks his tongue out, and Sam pulls him thru suit and stuffs him back in upside down .... don't know why, but that 5 seconds always cracks me up.

  • It hurts to say it, but this one really isn't as good as the other Ralph/Sam shorts. The concept was always: Ralph attempts to steal sheep, Sam violently stops him, the two show that they're just doing their jobs when the whistle blows. This one, with Sam's blind fumblings, and Ralph trying to destroy him, make it too much like a Coyote and Road Runner short and strays from that concept too much.

    /nerd rant

  • Too bad the sheep (the People) aren't the ones being protected but rather corporate power.

  • @TheFrankFactor Leave politics out and just enjoy the cartoon.

  • And here we have th American duopoly. Which one is the Democratic party? Wiley, of course!

  • @TheFrankFactor Get your political shit and blow it out your ass!!!

  • @starvetodeath123 I second that motion!

  • why does ralph have to look so much like wile e. coyote? it throws me everytime.

  • @jolayne23

Warner Bros animation suchs so bad that they don't know a wolf from a coyote.

Also notice that in the beginning, the dog has a mustache when it's in shadow, but in the light he just has hair in his eyes.

  • @jolayne23 Well, in the very first short, his appearance was more wolf-like, but I guess the probably decided to just use Wile E.'s design since they were still too similar to begin with.

  • sam has spidey senses when it come to sheep lol

  • That music at :14 is kind of catchy.

  • @TeamRocket2010 Good point. It is catchy.

  • What a classic they dont make em like they used to

  • Love how warped this is.

  • No wonder Chuck Jones left Warners because of conflicts with the studio. Wasn't the same year Chuck Jones left Warners to take over production of the Tom and Jerry cartoons for MGM?

  • Ohhhh nice!!!! I love to remember when i was a little kid!

  • reminds me of high school.

  • What's wrong with the picture aspect? Why is it crushed on the sides?

  • Bike Cannon is such a fucking idea! :D

  • Wile E. Coyote and this is his twin Ralph Wolf

  • It reminds when I work a factory

  • Its so strange this cartoon... because they are friends but in fact they fight...

Who didi this cartoon dont think the possibility of a friendship?

    But its nice...

  • They didn't clock out for lunch.

  • Mel Blanc did all of the voices for these characters didn't he?

  • @EatinCactus yes, he did.

  • i loved the game of this

  • Talk about loving your enemies! lol

  • jajaajajajaja 3:11

  • I agree with all these other folks. Ralph Wolf and Wile E. Coyote (Genius) look an awful lot alike. I always though it was Wile E. in this cartoon, but he was just using an alias.

  • "Yep, good to be alive Ralph." - Sam after nearly being blown to smithereens and being saved by the workday whistle. XD

  • This seems to be the peak of Bill Lava's ability to write beautiful cartoon music. It's all downhill from here.

  • I learned something new today, at the tender age of 39, I always had the hazy memory that this was another cartoon outing for Wile E Coyote, not realising it was Ralph Wolf!

  • I remember watching this! I thought Ralph was Wile E. at first XD

  • loll

  • I always wondered why Ralph looks so much like Wile E. Coyote?

  • Turns out they're lost brothers

  • this was the first episode i saw with sam and ralph..... AND IT WAS AWESOME!

  • Sam S. and Ralph W. definitely takes the cake on the term, 'The Odd Couple'.

  • Ralph and Wily E. must be cousins or twin brothers or something...

  • aaw and they live together too LOL

  • Hehe, I think Sam must've hidden some vodka in his tea to be that clumsy. :P

  • I don't think I'm going to get tired of watching this, just love it!

  • Yes, I know they are two different characters. But they share similarities. I like it.

  • Ralph wants Sheep, and Wile E wants That... uhhm... whats the blue bird's name?

  • @TheRealDealArt RoadRunner

  • cant win them all he says at the end, he has never won ONE, lol

  • Hell you know the economy is bad when Wile E coyote has to work 2 jobs!

  • @stopglobalswarming Its a different character, look at a picture of the two, a true looney tunes fan knows Ralph Wolf and Wile E. are two different characters

  • @ 5:21 it's time for last chance salon

  • I'd like to see an episode where they get their paychecks

  • im just wondering, what exactly does ralph do in his cartoon

  • he trys to get the sheep but sam keeps stoping him.

  • @ 5.21 last chance salon.

  • @ 5.50 is that the bell in waiting.

  • One cartoon I'd like to find is one in which similar characters--a sheepdog and (I think) a fox--go to work in similar roles to those in this one. However, the fox's name is 'Douglas'--which the sheepdog pronounces "Duh-glas'. He sounds like Brain on Top Cat.

  • has anyone realized how good these animations are back in 1963. even now there awsome

  • @Reaper1221115 The animation was actually even better in the Looney Tunes from the 50s and 40s. For some reason the animation quality took a hit in the 60s.

  • I never understood what Ralph is getting paid for?!?

  • @yanamad It's his job to try and capture the sheep while Sam's job is to guard them. Think of it like Clusoe in the Pink Panther movies, how he had his servant Kato attack him now and then to keep him alert. Or if a company paid a guy to break into their building randomly to test their security.

  • Me too until I realized both Sam and Ralph clocked in for work...Ralph trying to steal sheep and Sam trying to keep guard against Ralph...like some sport :)

  • wild coyote is the only looney tune character tht fucken goes over bored with thte weaponry!!but awsome!

  • i have all this on dvd x

  • TCHA! @ 5:52

  • Mornin' Sam, Mornin' Ralph.

  • It's funny in this cartoon Sam can't see where he's going, lol...

  • FYI: A *lot* of people cast aspersions on all the William Lava incidental music, because it was too "earthbound" (In the words of one essayist; Lava couldn't help it..he was a compsoer for drama films at WB, and he got the MM/LT job by default..Franklyn died suddenly in 1962). But the guy did his darndest..and *lots* of the incidental music in the vignettes he did before the 1963 termination of Termite Terrace was - in retrospect -

    spot on and rather good.

    Just my tuppence, m8's.

  • OOOOHHHHHH! Sam can't see because the fur is in his eyes!!!

  • What's with the 1 x 1 aspect ratio on this youtube video?

  • Comment removed

  • "Pshaw!" Best. Line. Ever.

  • You cut off the "That's All Folks!" ending!

  • what a job and i thought mine sucked lol

  • i love how they hate each other when they are working but when they are not they are good friends

  • @totothepuppydog me too lol

  • @totothepuppydog Nuthin' to do with hatred. It's simply their job as cartoon characters - The 2001 video game "Sheep Dog 'n Wolf" even gives it a backstory, with the two of them working for a TV show led by Daffy Duck.

  • @totothepuppydog

    They're pro wrestlers.

  • I always love these type of shorts.

  • why does it say ralph wolf its wile e

  • no, its not. this is a wolf not a coyote, they just look similar. differences include the voice and the eyes and the nose.

  • Actually, Ralph wolf is Wile Coyote's cousin

  • you mean sam

  • Wile E.'s nose is black & Ralph's is red. Also, the whites of Wile E.'s eyes are yellow.

  • if he;s going after the roadrunner, he's sorta a different character.

  • Directed by Phil Monroe and Richard Thompson while Friz Freleng served as executive producer. Chuck Jones didn't direct this one, actually. Also to note: Milt Franklyn wasn't on hand to compose,so,William Lava served as the new musical director. The last of the Sam Sheepdog/Ralph Wolf animated shorts too,the last one in 1963.

  • Wasn't David D. Depatie producing cartoons at this time, not Friz?

  • Of course Friz was producing cartoons with him but established a studio called the De Patie-Freleng Enterprise where they directed and produced Pink Panther, The Ant and the Aardvark...just 2 name a few.

  • That's because he and half of his team got fired from the studio and later moved to MGM to direct and produce Tom and Jerry, who were originally created By Hanna/Barbera, as well as The Dot and the Line.

  • @rayssonation One footnote. Chuck Jones left Warners because of conflicts between him and the studio though he did get story credit. Also Milt Franklin died in1961 and Bill Lava took over.

  • @acholl980 correction, Franklin died in 62.

  • Isn't it odd that Chuck Jones didn't direct this one, but is credited for the story?

Doesn't mean the cartoon is bad though. Gotta love the ironic last lines between Ralph and Sam.

  • He was fired while this was in production and was finished by Thompson and Monroe (who were actually Chuck's co-directors for this project).

I also like the opening music by Bill Lava for this cartoon.

  • Sounds logical. But again, how come his name wasn't in the director credit but WAS in the story credit?

Also, wasn't there a rule that once you're gone, your name's gone (Bob with "The BIg Snooze" and Tex with "All This And Rabbit Stew)?

  • I wondered that too, but maybe the rules were different under the Depatie regime.

Chuck also got director credits on the last Roadrunner cartoon as well.

  • To HazyChase20, Chuck Jones' name still appeared on 3 Warner Bros. cartoons AFTER his first MGM cartoon, Pent-House Mouse, was released. At this point, the name still appeared unless the person left very early in production.

  • Huh, forgot about "Pent-House Mouse".

Hm, well, so by that logic, Chuck decided just to not direct this one when it was in production?

  • The opening music is the classic Rodgers and Hart song "Mountain Greenery."

  • Lmao atleast I DO HOPE that they're gonna take it from there!

  • that last plan was overkill. and ralph just kept his cool after the day was over.
