@666Silson Most societies on Earth have/had some form of a slavery system, yes. What makes the Atlantic slave trade different was the scale and commercialization and the brutality of it. African tribes fought wars and indulged in slavery, yes, but they did not start the Atlantic slave trade. Due to colonialism, European settlers needed a labor force. They tried Native Americans, but they were too susceptible to disease. So they tried indentured servitude of lower-class white people and Africans.

The white ruling class were more than a little unnerved by whites and blacks rising up against them, so they racialized the system as a dividing tactic. It worked. The demand for slaves from Africa increased. White Europeans exploited African tribal conflicts to this end, and the tribespeople never knew of the truly horrific scale of this particular slave trade until they were captured in it.

And it was brought about through racial, religious, and classist exploitation. CCH Pounder is an excellent actor. This type of street mentality among blacks who embrace misantrophy is disgusting, ignorant and serves no useful purpose. It is common here in Atlanta, Georgia. There are some very fine black people I feel very fortunate to know in this city, that I both respect and admire.
