Shree Rajneesh talked about the superiority of bhakti over all others (sadhanas) because what the sadhanas try to gain something, which is, no matter how well you do it, a trace of ego, which has to be surrendered, or devoted, in the end.
It's like rolling a stone uphill only to let it go at the top, while bhaktis let the stone in the very beggining- drop self, "devote" yourself.
He also said it is absolutely zen- by renouncing yourself, you can't be enslaved, it is your choice, PEAK of freedom.
