i saw this when i was 10 and i could tell it was fake and when martin sain "come down and chum some of this s hit" i said "this is not that scary" and my 13 at the time she was 13 year old niece came in the shark jumped out of the water she screamed and i laughed soo hard
I have yet to swim in the ocean since having watched this film. And I watched it when I was almost 12 I think. To this day, I do not hate the ocean, I just fear it.
Absolute brilliant movie of all time, Im glad that they had problems with the shark because they dont reveal the shark until two ways through the film. Which kept the tension levels right up there and the reveal and the look on Brody's face and the uttering of one of the most quoted lines in movie history. "Were gonna need a bigger boat" Acting is right on the money, three brilliant characters, very different but brought together by the incidents occuring on Amity.
Another terrific thing about the film, "Jaws" was the deep diologue, particularly from Robert Shaw. His testimonial memory of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis was very chilling, and it gave him a sence of vulnerability. People will fully understand if they watch it all the way through. Anyway, it worked out so well that the movie took so long to complete, because there was no compromise. Steven Spielburg didn't fold under the pressure. He kept filming all the way. Made the right choice.
Your review was spot on, mate. Great job. One of the greatest films we'll ever have the pleasure of viewing. You mentioned graphic content which is important, because it has a PG rating (PG13 didn't exist until Speiberg's Indy 2 "Temple of Doom"). The only thing I disagree with is not having anything against the sequels! They were horrific!
i always liked how in the music, when the shark gets closer to his victim, the music gets faster (example is when the kid on the raft gets eaten). Great review man!
I know what you mean by the cover. I you look at it and think about, it's a girl that lookes likes she in the middle of no where, and with all that space for JAWS To swimme around in, she dead bread. Just put your-self in the post and think about. Good work & nice intro.
And for some reson, I am not afraid of open water...but I don't like to swimme under docks
u know this movie has given me so many nightmares since about a couple of years ago

i don't know one person who did want to go into the ocean after seeing this movie.
I know I sure didn't want to after watching it.
That's probably why the tag line is "See it...before you go swimming".
ibanez930 3 years ago 8
There's also these taglines:
1) When beaches open this summer, you will be taken by Jaws.
2) She was the first.
3) Do you like fish? Well, he likes you too...
4) Don't go in the water.
5) You'll never go in the water again!
AND
6) Amity Island had everything. Clear skies. Gentle surf. Warm water. People flocked there every summer. It was the perfect feeding ground.

The first jaws is the best of course. It's one of my favorite movies. Steven Sielburg is so good. I love this movie.
Wonderful review! You're a very good narrator.
